    Problems with Double Notes

Often times in songs where there are sequences of double notes (Lethal Injection and FF7 battle come to mind) I tend to have trouble hitting both notes of at least one of the sets. Now, I don't mean "I am not hitting both notes, why isn't it working?" I am smarter than that (hopefully).

It is evident to me when I clearly hit two notes (say <- and ->) and one of them doesn't activate that there is a problem, especially when those are the only two notes on the screen! Is this a common problem due to lag, or does the problem lie in my computer? I just want to know so that I can fix it as soon as possible and start to FC some of the harder songs.

Mabye the problem lies in the fact that you might not be hitting the jumps correctly.

Or the fact that you could have a load of porn and crap on your computer, and it's time to clean it out.

It could also be what you said.

In both of the songs that you mentioned there are jump note that are slightly off set from each other, therefor turning them into gallops. You just have to watch for it and not hit them at the exact same time.

Yeah, and I hate when they have gallop notes with an "all blue note" song. At least when they are differentiated by color it makes it easier to realize when they are on the same note or not.

But I think it's just my keyboard. My computer (I have a laptop) is 4+ years old and the arrow keys are just getting a little insensitive. I tried FFR on another computer, and it worked just fine. I'm not sure what the best solution is, but at least I know the problem.

Get a new comp or a new keyboard, most are USB so you can hook it to your laptop when you want to play.

I was having the same problem for a while too. Mostly in repetitions, ^ following an ^+> jump for instance with the up key not registering on the third keystroke. It's a matter of spacing out your key presses. Or at least for me it was. You might want to try lifting your fingers off of the keys completely to see if it's what I mentioned.

Back when I was worse than I am now, not that I've improved by much, I had a tendency to turn all jumps into gallops and all gallops into jumps, you might want to try and consciously hit both keys at the exact same time, really focus on it. Or seeing how according to cloud321 the jumps you're talking about are gallops, try and hit them in quick sequence.
