A lot of holidays give FFR a chance to really make an event out of putting out new songs though ... like the 12 days of FFRmas. I loved that ... and it was definitely enjoyable.

But like people have said before ... this 7 songs a week thing is probably only going to be a ONE time thing, as Tass doesn't have a birthday every week, and Celldweller isn't going to go into the studio just to make an FFR edit every week, bringing our total back down to 2 a week.

I disagree with that, considering I enjoy basically anything that isn't way too easy, except for a few things like AIM. With how many songs there are now, I don't see how SotW could be really special, unless it was some special song, like if it had over 4000 notes, or if it were 8 minutes long, etc.

If there wasn't an average rank system, no one would care how many songs there are.

If you care about your average rank, then you want slow moderation of songs, if you do not, then you want a free flow of songs as they are stepped.

Im with Jim on this, 1000 songs would be sweet, I get tired of songs easily and need more and more new ones to keep me playing here over downloading packs and mass quantities of SM songs.

For me, the best way to attack the average rank problem is to just work on your lower end of the level rank (say the bottom 20 or so) that way even if you can't keep up, you're always in a state of improvement with no complacency.

over 1400 people have played aztec templing and air... air was just released on friday. i think that's pretty damn good. over 2100 have played switchback.

and of all the songs i've added... Straight to Video is #1 with over 37,000 unique plays.

I disagree because this game doesn't have a big "pro" songlist yet. Sure, there are ~80 60+ songs, but a good chunk of them are offsync (things like RaT and heck even Get Down), and some of them aren't fun files (IMHO). This leaves me with about 30 songs that I play regularly. I don't find that to be an awful lot in my playing experience, and that's why I don't play FFR for hours straight like I do on SM.

To conclude: the more songs the better. If you don't want to play them, who's forcing you? If you care about average rank that much, suck it up: we all had to play the stupid offsync dance songs at one stage or another. I honestly can't see any problem with giving the community more songs to play with.

If someone has already stated these before, or if it's going to be on 3rd Style, I deeply and sincerely apologize.

If it's convenient:

-Before I lost track of them, I've often been keeping a list of FFR R1 (well, and R2) songs that I play, how well I do on them, and what I need to do better at. If we had a "playlist" system, that would not only keep track of our old favorites, but also any new songs that we may have played but sort of forgot about.

-Maybe a new section for New Songs - put songs in the section for, say, one week, so we can see what's new and what's not. Also, if we can't get to it, we can put it in the proposed playlist if we forget.
