    Re: Hand styles

There are a few more different styles.
-Spread/4-Finger (2 Hands, 2 from each on each key)
    -Index (Easy to figure out)
    -2 Hands, 3-Fingers

All the specific ones I think. Spread is the best and will be easier to master if you start early before you get too used to a style. I've played 2 hands, 3 fingers for about close to two years and the change is tough. Index is good for speed, but will be hard for songs with crossovers.

With spread, it's simply having like you said, 8 & 6 and left and down so your hands are spread out, allowing more comfort and room.
4 Finger is basically the same except it's just each finger on each arrow key.

If it has been a month and you've been playing a lot, it's best to change soon if you think that you won't get any better with your current style. Otherwise, it'll probably take longer, the longer you play as you do now.

              agreed.
ive played for over a year and a half one handed-3fingered.

I cannot change if my life depended on it.
              i tried.

4 finger is what I use.
                I sucked at spread.

I use index (except one's index and one's my middle finger).
Spread would be hard as hell to do, I suggest change before you get too attached.

Well, when my hand style is a full palm and fingers combination.
And while my right hand is working away, my left hand controls the mouse. >_>

Oh at FFR... Left hand Index finger = < arrow
                    Right hand Middle Finger = ^ & v arrows
Righ hand Ring Finger = > arrow

                      Re: Hand styles

I played one-handed for a year, and came to a plateau. I've always tried to switch to another style but I gave up after a couple days or so. Then I finally committed to playing spread for a full month no matter what, and I ended up better than when I played 1 handed. If you're thinking of switching styles, you need to commit a good amount of time to the new style forgetting about the old one, or you'll just end up thinking "I can't do it"

I played with one hand for about two years.
I switched to spread in like...a month. Now I'm just getting better at it.
I can't do one hand anymore.

Same here. Switching to spread made my PA so much better though...

PA was the only thing I had when I played with one hand.
