4-finger play. How?

I've gotten as far as I have so far using just the middle fingers on each hand (Good practice for telling people off. The ladies love it too, LOL)

However, I'm interested in at least giving 4-fingered play a try.
What fingers go where, and such? The way I'm doing it seems to not work too well.

Your two middles fingers?
That's uncomfortable for me.
I used to use my right index/middle.

I now use:
left middle/up
left index/left
right index/down
right index/right

Tested it. It's much more comfortable that way, however the column issue is messing with my head, haha.
My left hand is handling the 1st and 3rd columns, and my right hand is handling the 2nd and 4th. Makes for a confusing joust -.-;

A very common set-up for 4 finger is:

Left Middle/left
Left Index/Down
Right Index/ right
Right Middle/Up

There is also a way of using four fingers called spread. In which, the left hand is the same, the difference is

Right middle/8 on #Pad
Right Index/ 6 on #Pad

Either way is fine. There is also a way to use hotkey to set your own system up...but I'm too lazy to dig up the thread on it.

No I play spread with the finger position I described after that. Try tilting your keyboard a little.

No, rade, your way is complicated, check it out on your arrow keys, it involves twisting your right hand around so that your right index is on right and your right middle is on up. Hurts.

I always forget which arrows are where, it's (left-down-up-right) yes?

In that case I use:

left middle - left
left index - up
right index - down
right middle - right.

I would be inclined to believe that that is how most spread players play.

Yes because that certainly makes it easier.

No, it doesn't. Tried, still as uncomfortable.

There is no way in hell I could do trills or anything fast like that, even with practice.

I've been playing spread for 5 months or so can't figure out if its easier to spread or to just use

left middle=left
left index=down
right index=up
right middle=right
