I just recently started playing and I kbnow I should probably be asking this in the newb forums, but what are credits used for? Are they used to unlock new songs or what? Sorry for being a ditz.

Credits have two functions:
1. Buy new songs.
2. Save them to unlock secret songs.

If you play long enough, credits will become absolutely useless.
(By 'long enough,' I mean: Playing for enough credits to purchase all songs at the in-game store and for more than 10k credits after that.)

secret songs will eventually go as high as 100,000...
