This seriously bothers me. Apart from moderators being able to say whatever they feel, they can also ban you for just simply disagreeing????For simply not liking a mod you can get banned?

I'm In a state of shock because this kind of thing Is entirely unfair. Banned because a mod was having a bad day? Banned because a mod feels that your posting Is dumb and stupid? That should not happen.

A person should be able to have a fair shot. Be able to explain and talk about the banning. This could help settle problems, Instead of the other party being pissed off about the whole incident. I feel the FFR forum community would be a much better place If posters were alloud to appeal a ban.

So how do you guys feel about this proposition?
I've noticed that alot of controversy In forum chat Is due to people getting unbanned, and then making a thread about why they were banned. These posters need to know.

Cmon guys we have to have a voice also. I don't want to be banned because a mod was having a bad day. Or because a mod dosen't like my name.

How do you guys feel about this proposition?

do you think the owners(sorry im not active here so i dont know you guys :S) would allow the mod's to just ban whoever the heck they feel like banning for no good reason?

i mean, if somebody got banned, and their reason was "mod was in bad mood, had to let out steam" or some retarded reason like that, the site would get a bad rep over time and slowly lose people, and people would be like "owners a dick, don't bother going there", ebaumsworld comes to mind when i say that..


no mod is going to ban you for no good reason, i think they stated it that way because some people might bitch about getting banned and whine about it, and if they clearly deserve the ban but are to blind/retarded to see it, then the mod can just ban them without question...

Okay Mods do do that sometimes, hence why I made this thread. I was bothered by the wording at the top, which Is In the official rules. To me that's just not fair at all.

That's where your wrong. I'm not saying that mods are doing this left and right, I'm saying they have the power to and can do It and not get in trouble. That simply Isn't fair. Mods are not always fair, from what you claim they are. Mods get away with pretty much anything, from sex jokes to cussing and such. I bet If a different user who's not a mod were to make jokes and snide comments such as those, they would simply be frowned upon and banned. Do you understand yet?

I made this thread after I read the thread about someone getting banned, and dude said that quote that I started this whole thing on, which Is In the rules.

You guys are all right! (Now synth scares me too.) One question that I have is that the MODS always say you have to be 13 to join. Yet I don't see anything in forums that says you need to be 13 to join. I dont want any of my friends to get banned for this reason or me. Can someone please tell me what is going on?

Two things:

1. The moderators are selected because the admins trust in their judgment. In the very rare case that there are numerous reports of one mod in particular giving out kicks and bans for no reason at all, they can get in trouble and possibly de-modded...but again, this is very rare, and has not happened more than a couple times since FFR was started some 4 years ago. I believe that all of the current mods do have good judgment, and so this isn't really an issue right now. Most of the people who complain in the chat forum about getting "unfairly" banned actually deserve it from what I can tell.

2. You must be 13 or older to post on the forums or use the chat. That's a rule, it has to do with federal law.

That's not how it works. I've been banned from forums because they admin thought I was thinking of doing something that could possibly be on the border of stretching a rule. Total ban time: 8 months. Still going strong.

All mods abuse power. That's a characteristic of being someone WITH power. Every forum is fascist to some degree. Just nod your head, and pretend you care -- and you might not feel the wrath of unjust treatment.
