How do you Play

Ok...we all know that there are 3 basic ways to play ways meaning the arrangement of your fingers.

(Ferther depths for noobs) The main one is "Three Fingered" where you use your domanent hand and use your index ring finger and middle finger for both up and down. Ussually used for low lv players

The next most popular one is "Two handed". This is the one I use. Ussually used for med lv players.

The one that apparently gives you the best advantage is "Indexing" where you use both of your index fingers...Im trying but I dont see how its better.



What do you use and why?

Also how do u Index? I just don't see how it works.

Because it's not, every single Tier 1 FFR player (as in the best ones) plays 4-finger spread, period.

Index is for DDR players, really. It gives good accuracy but is useless for songs like Silence or EHHS.

there are also a million threads on this already.

index simulates using your feet... 2 feet, 2 fingers, etc etc.

spread = left middle on L, left index on D, right index on U, right middle on R.

That's actually "4-finger"...spread is using something else, like LD86

i switched to 4 fingure spread about a month ago. . .huge improvement over 2 hand 4 fingure for me.
i voted other, since i didn't see spread.

Spread is better technically. Index is more originality

I use two handed with slight spread X left V right C down G up, it's ergonomic and related to the arrow keys two handed (which I started with :P)

I have no idea how you play like that. X, V, C, D... sure. But G? It just doesn't work for me.

i normally play index cause i'm so used reading arrows from ddr. but lately ive been trying to use 4finger arrowkeys. i have tried to use the LD86 thing, but it feels so weird!

There is no "meant way to play the game". Look in the FAQ, it details quite a few different play styles, spread being among them.

By the way, there's plenty of enjoyment in spread once you actually get decent at it.

The true way to play is with the mouse, enough said. It makes every song in the game impossible to AAA therein lies the fun of trying to get that AAA.

P.S. There are two other one handers! I'm not special anymore. T.T
