    My discovery

Two middle fingers actually works as well as index for me. I tried this on SM, and it worked great. Also, I have been experimenting with one hand, four fingers. Index on left, middle on down, ring on up, and pinky on right (switch left with right if playing with left hand.) Any comments or anything?

EDIT: I also just remembered: to those who play index, do you actually cross over on crossovers? I've been experimenting with that, and it's kinda fun.
You should value your education more than this crap of Flash Flash bull.

I tried middle finger and I get a lot more control out of index. I usually use middle finger for the start of Deep Breath, because the stream at the start is hard to index. I use 4fing for that stream and then i go straight to middle finger, followed by index asap.

Just imagine playing with only one index? I think it would be impossible but it actually might work out. I beat Zelda with one index. And then I tried something a little harder. I went for zombie room and was unsuccessful.

I have played with 2 middle fingers. It works OK, and is a little better than indexing to me. But, I think I will stick to using 3 fingers one handed.

Keep your left finger on the left key and right finger on the right key and either finger on the up or down keys depending on the situation. It sounds like it should take awhile but I can already get to the melody of Strangeprogram(and die!) after practicing index for only 2-3 months. Do whatever feels natural for you and youll end up with quick finger movement.

Index is very easy to get good at fast. You can do streams very well because there's a certain "flow" to it, and you are forced to learns patterns because you can't mash and do as well. You can also play for long periods of time because there isn't too much stress on the hands/wrists.

4 fingers I like for SM because it's a less awkward step up. You work different parts of the wrist so it's hard at first but after awhile you can play forever. I don't do 4 for FFR because it's all about the combo (my accuracy is up but consistancy is down, especially with streams and double eighths.)

EDIT: doing cross overs the real way is an art and is very good to learn to do them and do them well. Cheating them is almost impossible in faster songs.
