Why do the arrows go accroos the screen from right to left and my friend has his arrows coming form the bottom to the top. How do I change this?

When you first go into the game, you can select the different playtypes at the top right. The default is bottom to top.

I suggest using the Down Playfield (Top to Bottom).

if you play normal ddr, than you will probably be used to bottom to top, though.
