What is it like being a moderator or an admin? I'm not asking to be one or anything I just want to know what you do and what it's like.

UNLEASH THE DRAGON
Originally posted by mead1My method of making love is quite different than you might expect. I prefer to find a girl taking a nap at the local preschool, and then make love to them as they scream in my large, sound-proofed, white van. I then make love on their face, and throw them in an ice-chest of bleach. For pillow talk, I usually say, "Your parents can't hear you," and keep their teddy bear as a momento. You could call me a hopeless romantic, I guess.Tags: None -
RE: What
I was a mod once a long time ago on another board. I don't think I did it right, which probably explains why I lost that status about 3 weeks later. Anyway, what I hear is that the most common thought of a mod at work is that their job is most often a thankless one.Originally posted by thesunfanI literally spent 10 minutes in the library looking for the TWG forum on Smogon and couldn't find it what the fuck is this witchcraft IGR

RE: What
I've been a mod for tons of forums(surprise, surprise.) and I'd have to say it's pretty boring. You have to put up with the crap everyone, lock stuff, ban people, and pretty much tell people to STFU. It's like being a parent only without any feelings of joy.Comment

RE: What
It rocks so much, especially for me, since I can play halo 2 and mod the forums at the same time

RE: What
Difficult as hell on a huge forum like this one. Often really thankless, and you don't even feel like you solve problems when you lock topics. Forum warnings are REALLY tedious to issue (they take like 3 minutes each) and since it takes 5 to ban, issuing a 1st is never fun (especially since most 1st time offenders don't need a 2nd warning to stop what they're doing.)
Being on the game development team is SO much more rewarding. It's so much fun to see thousands of people enjoying the fruits of your hard work.Comment

Re: RE: What
Or you could just play Halo 2 and not have to worry about the multitasking as you play.Originally posted by lightdarknessIt rocks so much, especially for me, since I can play halo 2 and mod the forums at the same time
In my experience of mod/op-type positions online, it's cool at first because there's all this new stuff you can do and you're not used to having the power. But after awhile it's mostly just tedious and bogs you down if you're trying to go through a period of not being online much for awhile.Comment
