    Can you explain this?

    I was playing FFR one night and when I was done it said that I had infinity% of the score and I had no credits of my own, just the credits from the song that I had just finished. How can this be?

    I dont know how to post a screen shot can someone help?

      It happens on select songs, like ball of malt. Its been happening for a while, just dont worry about it.

        RE: Can you explain this?

        It is dividing your score by 0, which it thinks the High Score is, and instead of getting an error and having the entire world come crashing down, it just says infinity.

            RE: Can you explain this?

            That's because anything divided by 0 is infinity. Because if you don't give anybody any part of it, nobody can have as much as it wants. Or you can use limits and Calculus.
            So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

            In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

            So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
            And I write the blog for their website.

            Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

              n/0 is not infinity, evil. It is simply undefined.

                    tnyHwk, slightly wrong.. you can't just say n/0 = undefined
                    you have to say (upside down A) n| n<>0 n/0 = undefined

                    (for all n such that n doesn't = 0, n/0 is undefined... 0/0 is indeterminant)
                    its been discussed in CT before.. and its basic math so I'll stop this..

                      RE: Can you explain this?

                      thanks guys and I know what happens when you divide by zero it either tends towards infinity or minus infinity or any other real number depending on the function. For example

                      5(x-10)2 =
                      (x-2)2
                      Lim 5
                      x-2

                      when x tends towards 2 that means that you are dividing by zero but at the limit using, I don’t know how you say it in English but it’s called the theory of Hospital in french, states that at the limit when you are dividing by zero the answer will be 5. You need to use derivitives for that answer.

                      Any number divided by 0 gives you infinity
                      In conclusion, at the limit you can divide by zero. And the FFR computer must have divided a number by zero.

                      That's cal I its basic stuff.

                            n/0 != infinity

                            lim (x->0) n/x = infinity

                            There's a difference.

                            (This is assuming, of course, that n != 0.)
                            I watched clouds awobbly from the floor o' that kayak. Souls cross ages like clouds cross skies, an' tho' a cloud's shape nor hue nor size don't stay the same, it's still a cloud an' so is a soul. Who can say where the cloud's blowed from or who the soul'll be 'morrow? Only Sonmi the east an' the west an' the compass an' the atlas, yay, only the atlas o' clouds.
