Using a dance mat to trigger midi

Hi, I've heard that you can use a DDR mat to trigger midi (i.e. assign each pad to a different midi number through a computer), and I was wondering if any of you know if this is actually possible/what software and hardware is needed to do it. I should mention that I'm using OS X--I've seen a ton of USB adapters on eBay, but it seems like all of them are just for PC.

shut up mychili. All i can say is that i'm sure it's possible, but you'll have to find some mac experts...sorry i couldn't help ya more.
