how does challenging other ppl work?

me and mah friend want to play and we both sent each othe a challeng. but it wont work. plz help a noob out

Click challenge, type the other persons info, click send, and the first song you play will be recorded and sent to the other player as a challenge. To accept a challenge, the challenge menu will say pending instead of challenge.
