When I first started playing FFR I got so into it that I started seeing arrows when I closed my eyes! This happened for at least a week! I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience or am I just insane!
When I first started playing FFR I got so into it...
That answers it. Hey, I find myself pressing imaginary arrows to any song anywhere. But thats mostly cause I want to.
Seriously, whenever you start you get so into beating Halcyon or Dance 2 This that you memorize the step file. And if it only lasted a week, why do you care? (Alden had his arm broken for 2 weeks before finding out that it wasn't supposed to bend that way.)(Alden was 4 at the time)
This is a condition many people get. For us FFR/SM people, it's not too uncommon to after playing for a long period of time to "see" arrows scrolling. This also works for many other games, but I find that it happens pretty commonly with puzzle games like Tetris or Dr. Mario. Try playing Dr. Mario for a few hours and you'll find your mind making up virus patterns and pills. It's actually pretty amazing how strange the human brain is.
Well I don't think it was after playing for a long time, i play for hours straight now and i dont see the arrows. It was just when i started out that this happened. I didn't even have to play during that day and i still saw them.
Honestly, this does happen every once-in-awhile to me. It's funny, you actually have partial control of the patterns of arrows you "see," even though you can't help seeing them or not.
It happened for me at bedtime when I first started playing DDR. To make things worse, when I'd listen to DDR music while I was going to sleep, my feet would sometimes twitch to the arrows I was seeing.

When I first started playing DDR and Stepmania, I'd see arrows...it is weird, but you get over it. Same with tetris.
Lately I have been playing GT4 with the Driving Force Pro, and after playing it I usually get online and whatnot, and it still feels like I am feeling the feedback from the steering wheel as I type.
