Is there a place where I can get stepfiles without playing the game or is there a practice mode? Some of the songs are just a blur and it's a pain in the ass to play over the entire song over and over again.

ffr songs are exclusive to ffr. their stepcharts are not anywhere else, although the music can be found.
if you want to practice with other stepfiles, try downloading www.stepmania.com and getting stepfiles from www.bemanistyle.com or www.ddramerica.com/bttrackerRIPComment
