SM steps

I know this should be in SM, but no one goes there; Firstly, are the SM steps the same or similar to that of the songs in ddr? Secondly, we all see jumps, but what about some "ultra" jumps with 3 arrows or all 4 even, has that ever come up, is it possible, and why hasn't anyone done it?

I've done 4 arrow jumps on my songs... but I think it crahses some people computers (ei: plasmix couldn't load it because it had quadruples)... *shrugs* and SM steps are a little different the FFR ones, with holds and all, but it's similar and wouldn't be... to hard to transfer. Atleast I think so.

well i know how SM is different; i think i might have an old version of SM, i saw some of arch's high scores with marvelous and such; mine is perfect, great, good, miss, and bad; what version of SM is the newest and where can i get it

It's probably not the newest, but it's pretty recent.

goto the stepmania thread.. it has a sticky with the latest versions of SM... and triple and quad jumps are stupid.... and not many peoples comps can handle the three or four button sets

"Pump IT Up DX" Is one of the games Stepmania Supports, I dont want to explain PIU, but the point is, It has Tripple's in the arcade, So in order to make correct conversion of PIU stepfile creation supported by Stepmania, The whole Stepmania Engine itself will support any kind of game stepfile, And will play it on any game. EG, You make a PIU .SM file for PIU in stepmania, But you play it when Stepmania is on game setting "Dance Dance Revolution" It will convert the steps to 4 arrows instead of 3, But there will still be doubles, Tripples where there is supposed to be, Creating Tripples in Stepmania Game Mode: DDR.

ok my first question was covered quite nicely; now are the steps in some SM songs the same or similar to their counterparts in DDR?
