    Judge Offset Help

    Hello,

Big noob question. I used to play on the velocity and legacy engines and always avoided the R^3 engine as I could never sort the judge offset to something that felt right. Those engines went ages ago (as far as I know), and the auto judge offset on R^3 sets me at 3.66, and its just really weird to play with that, even if that's for whatever reason the timing I'm hitting things at.

I just want the game to play like it did before R^3, it's been so long since the legacy engines went and I have never properly been able to get back into FFR because the offset stuff. Are there any legacy engines I can go back to? Or is the only option to read the judge offset guidance and try find something that works through trial and error?

    Fank u

    Re: Judge Offset Help

Sadly all the old engines have broken at this point. so r^3 really is the only modern option.

3.66 offset is quite high. You might want to try messing around with other settings like scroll speed to see if that changes things. Could be any number of things causing you to hit late.

As far as finding your offset is concerned i encourage you to read this guide, as it goes over the proper way to set it. Though it really is just trial and error at the end of the day.

If you need further help, feel free to hop in the discord and ask. That's where most of the community so you'll probably get a more timely response there

      Re: Judge Offset Help

EDIT ALSO! Drop that framerate to 30fps for the true legacy feel
      General Settings
1: I would suggest roughly a +1 to judge offset.
This is to simulate the visual look of the note receptor animation to proc earlier.

2: Lower your arrow receptor spacing to 73.

2.5 I find my self adjusting the Global Offset to ~almost 3.
ofcourse, this will change depending on each individual chart, i've had the most success with something around 2.9.
I recommend just muting and testing out the judge offset, then adjust the global offset accordingly for you.

      Game Visuals
      3: Add a screen cut.
Adjust it in the Gameplay Editor tab to ~the bottom of the health bar. Maybe a little bit past it, but roughly around there.

4: Disable Show Amazing Accuracy and -
in the Gameplay Editor tab, adjust the judge accuracy to pretty much where the accuracy bar is.
The AMAZING!!! img will still show in the Gameplay editor jsyk so just ignore that.
(May wanna move the bar slightly to the right so you can adjust that after;I placed my bar right above my accuracy, but feel free to remove the bar too if you wanna)

I recommend doing these steps first, then going back and trying out the "auto adjust" after to see where our tendencies lay.
Sometimes just the visual look changes how we respond.
Typically, though, us Legacy enjoyers will be hitting +early.
I find myself dropping to around +.5 offset sometimes, GOODLUCK!
