How can I derust, is it still possible?

Hi, I have been away from sm for about 8 months. I set some good scores, I regret leaving. Now I cannot fc, or 99 any of the charts I played prior to my hiatus. I know people will say to play the game and that everything just gets back into motion with time, but how can I speed it up? I have mindblocked every chart from playing consistently for 30+ hours in a 2 day period. Please help.

My favourite way to derust involves two things. Playing new files that I'm not familiar with to get out of the mindblock rut on files I'm familiar with, and playing stuff I used to play near my peak on down rates by 5%-15%. The latter helps me re-train the proper muscle memory on patterns I would otherwise be stuck on. Good luck with the derust!

Start with new stuff at lower difficulties, and then get harder from there. Make sure you get at least 96% ACC on those maps. Otherwise, keep working at them.

play charts you're unfamiliar with, in my experience a big issue with coming back after a hiatus and skill drop is playing older stuff that you were able to wreck at one point. you don't see or feel any progression, you see the results screen and go "goddamnit I used to have *insert older better score* on this what happened." rly annoying when you have the muscle memory locked and loaded but you're not up to speed physically yet.
as far as mindblocks go, if you can't break the mindblock within like 3 to 5 plays (try mirroring the chart too), just play a different chart and come back to it later
