Breaking the Pause Problem (Data Collecting)

OK first off i know people have covered this subject but a puase is the: lag, pause, break, annoyance, or glitch you all hear about or experiance while playing. Its the 1 second the that the screen lags out as a arrow scrolls by destroying your perfect game.

Im starting this thread to get down to the main problem.

Im running a 3.2ghz processor with 1gb ram and a 64mb gf4 vid card and i still get the pause.

So im looking for feedback from players who either still get the pause and if so whats your comp statistics? also for those who dont have the pause whats your comps statistics? By statistics i mean as i put above.

Another factor might be in the internet itself. How fast is it going? Clocked mine at 550kbps and a fps of 49. Considering the game is a flash program im pretty sure it wouldnt take much to run it but i cant rule this out.

So for those who are having pauses please post your internet speed and fps so i can collect this data as well.

Also another factor is the year of windows your all currently running. this might have something to do with it but i highly doubt it.

For the admins what windows version is ffr running on?

    Im Runnign WINXP

If you get a pause please post the windows version.

The admins have brung up the fact of empting the catch but ive emptied it befor each song i tested and still teh same results. I removed all programs from running except explorer and iexplorer runnign ffr and still i get the pause.

One thing i havnt tried is running in safe mod and trying to play it through there and ill get on it as soon as i can.

Personally i see the admins blaming the home computers more then doing soemthing about the ongoing problem. So im hoping to accumulate as much info and data as i can.

For those who find this thread suspicous do not post your IP Or any other such information on your computer that you may find harmful to your computer.

Info and comment should be entered as fallows:

    -"If you witness a Pause"
    -"Computer information"
    -"Internet Speed and FPS Speed"
    -"Version Of windows your running"
    -"Comments"

    Thanks for teh support

You try too hard.... But keep up the good work.... lol

But nah... I don't get pauses... And the computer I'm cyrrently using has 2.4 ghz with 32 vid mem and runs cracked xp (shhhhh....lol).....the internet clocks at 256kbps and im not sure about frame rate.... all i know... is that when i play the game, it has tp be played under low quality, cuz it lags too much....

The quality of the flash could possibly be another major factor in ths 'pause' problem.... hope you can figure this thing out.... peace

It is a problem from computer to computer, because if it were with the actual flash game, everyone would have the problem, and not just a few.

You guys need to be more specific if you're really collecting data. One glaring thing, and I can't believe you didn't specify this, is what version of WIN XP you're using. Home? Pro? Workstation? It could make a big difference. Do you have a Celeron processor? A Pentium? How fast is your RAM? How fast is your HD? How big is it? What's your internet connection and speed? All this stuff matters. As for the glitch, I think it's just generic. It happens to everyone now and then, but it's not that big of a problem (I hardly ever get it) and if I do, I just restart the song. No big deal.

It seems to happen when the computer refreshes itself. What you might want to do is speed up your refresh rate to 85 Hz, most monitors have it set at a lowly 65 Hz. If you up it, not only will you get faster refreshing (derr) but when it does refresh, it won't take as long.

hmm was at 2 buddies houses this weekend who both had 32bit vid cards and no lag i got 64 and lag conincadence maybe? Looking for info back on vid card bit for non-breakers and breakers. Clocked in breaks at avg of 1 per 50 steps.

For the last time, video cards have absolutely nothing to do with how FFR runs. Unless you bought a completely incompatable video card that screws up your display, the GPU is not even used for FFR. The in-browser version relies completely on processor speed and RAM.

I think the main problem probably lies within flash itself. I've heard cases where it randomly decides to act screwy, and fix itself of its own accord. Maybe your computer has a trojan. Maybe your configuration doesn't like flash, or maybe it doesn't like the coding of this generation of FFR. Maybe it'll fix itself when R2 comes out. Without knowing wherein the problem lies, there's little hope of us being able to fix it.

Umm first of all, search the cause from these. Maybe that's software problem.
That happens to my friend's computer too.

              - Sound card driver
              - Video card driver
              - other software (virus scan, etc)
              - invalid access to CD-ROM or FDD with some problem
