    FFR on Chromebook

So I've got a friend that used to play on Chromebook, but since Flash is gone, they can't play anymore. They said standalone won't work on a Chromebook, and now there's no way of them playing. Is there any way they can get FFR to work?

    Re: FFR on Chromebook

Unless you can perform one of these, FFR on Chromebook is impossible:

    - You turn on developer mode and install Wine. https://www.winehq.org/

    - Use a 'Virtual Machine' running Windows or something that can run .exe's. https://www.virtualbox.org/

    - Do the patchwork manually yourself to the associated .dll files that utilize flash in-browser, to remove the time bomb's for flash.
This link here describes the process of doing so. https://gist.github.com/KuromeSan/56...f81994ae3591d1

    - Use a 'flash player projector' that works with ChromeOS. If you find something that can run .swf, or utilize .swf browser URL's, then that's your way in.
    FFR .swf: -https://www.flashflashrevolution.com/~velocity/R%5E3.swf-

    - Download and use a previously known unpatched version of your browser, or a version of Flash that doesn't have a timebomb in it. Last resort if you have exhausted the previous options, as this is the greatest security threat. Since not only are you turning on flash, but you're patching BACKWARDS from what you originally had.

Download link for most recent unpatched version of Firefox: https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/84.0.1/

This applies for anything flash-related regarding ChromeOS.

Of course, if you are using a 'school-owned Chromebook that is leased out to you', there's little options that work here. Most of these utilities require admin privileges, or the ability to install programs, which most school-owned Chromebooks do not allow. Blame the school/faculty for using an operating system that severely limits the playing of video games for those that do not have privileges. This is quite literally the reason school boards use this Operating System.

Please, try to keep remarks about 'FFR should just upgrade to HTML5 like other websites / Why not just release an apk version' to a minimum. Majority of these thoughts have been addressed as to why they wouldn't work, and devs are already working on a version of the game that's programmed in Rust, which would work in-browser and answer the issues around people that were originally stuck to playing the game in-browser. Can follow the development on that over here: https://github.com/flashflashrevolution/rrr

Sorry, wish there was more utilities available for more lesser-used, obscure operating systems.

It's considered a hassle by most already if you're attempting to even have half the compatibility on a Apple/Mac operating system, it's generally even more-so difficult for people on ChromeOS / Linux / Android / etc.

I'm actually gonna cry. This was the post i was looking for and I had hoped there would be a way to fix it. *sigh* My days are over. I just ordered a controller to use in school and it was literally arriving today. Great...

                Re: FFR on Chromebook

Updated my post with a shit-ton of links to help people get through the process of flash working again for Chromebook users.

Just gonna copy-paste this now when people ask, since this is a question that's usually asked anywhere between 3-5 times every week across the forum, or Discord. Actually kinda surprises me just how many people played FFR in-browser that specifically used Chromebook that was leased out from a school.
