So I don't know about you, but for me, it seems that ranking up requires a good deal of practice, but also finding that some songs that you can just nail. It seems like sometimes I'd be able to sdg an 80 song and on the other get over 50 goods and a bunch of misses and so on. So I would just keep playing the same songs in order to try to rank up.
This led me to ask if this is the case for other people. Are other people finding the same songs easier to do than others? Surely if this is the case, then I would be able to take advantage of other peoples finding "easy" hard songs.
With some help from the api and some information from around the site, I've created this!
This spreadsheet looks at the average score people are getting on some of their top 15 scores and how many people have that song in their top 15 scores. The sample I used is the top 1500 ranked players. The script I wrote could do more, but it already takes a few hours to run.
In order to use this, the songs are sorted by the average AAA equivalent. You can therefore look around your skill level and tryout some of the songs with a higher count. I've also added in the actual difficulty for completeness.
Finally, I've removed all the songs with less than 5 counts because it would represent outliers which would not really fall under what I was trying to accomplish with this. If one person did really well on a song, but no one else did, you can't really get to much of a conclusion with that. Also sometimes the api would give me garbage results that I couldn't use.
Anyway, do with this information what you will
edit: also I never used the google spreadsheets, so hopefully everything works
