When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

Re: So... This Site Slowdown
It's nothing so mysterious, as it is complex to fix. The forum database is being locked by queries that take a long time, such that a simple "get this information" request had to wait up to 20 seconds earlier this week. It is slowly being worked on by Velocity and Prawnskunk, and you'll notice that the performance has improved drastically from a few days ago. It will be cleared up entirely eventually.Last edited by Zageron; 04-8-2015, 02:09 PM.Comment

Re: So... This Site Slowdown
Scores are currently being inserted/updated from the database backup in chunks, starting from level id 1. After score recovery is completed, I will be processing the skill rating and average rank of all players to ensure that leaderboard rankings are displayed correctly. As you can imagine, these are all quite long, and intensive processes, so you can expect the site and game engine to act sluggish periodically over the next few days.Comment

Re: So... This Site Slowdown
PrawnSkunk,
So does the October's scores replace only the missing scores? If I have recently scored a lower score than it was in October's backup, will the score be replaced or not?
Originally posted by ilikexdYour strengths and weaknesses may never change, but they will still get better as you do, albeit disproportionately of course. You're bad at jumpstream, so just play jumpstream files. Play them for hours. Play ones you have to struggle to SDG, and play ones hard enough to make your hands and arms burn. Then play them some more. Then, the day after the next, play them again. If you aren't already doing this, you can't say you're stuck. Plateauing doesn't really exist, if you aren't improving it means you haven't put in the effort needed to improve, or your effort has been misapplied. It's more of a problem at really high levels, but never totally concrete.Comment
