So why is everybody playing on standalone?

Wherever I see ffr video or livestream everybody seems to be playing on that standalone thing, is there any particular reason for it? For what I've heard it laggs less than R3 engine but it seems to be much harder to play on standalone than on R3. Would you guys recommend for me to learn playing on standalone?

playing on standalone is the same as playing in browser except less lag. there is nothing difficult about it

you're not totally understanding it
standalone isn't another engine, it's just a way of playing any of the engines, including r3
it's possible that playing one of the engines on standalone will be smoother for you but it's not a guarantee (e.g, none of the standalones work better for me than loading the swf on chrome)

yeah but when i open R3 engine on standalone it covers up my whole screen which is 32" its like 10 times bigger than when playing straight from the browser. is there way to make it smaller since it seems to lagg less but i simply cannot play when its that big.

uhh you should be able to manually adjust the size of the screen if you're opening up the game using the .swf in a standalone flash player. You can adjust it to any size you want that way.

Just drag the sides/borders of the flash player standalone to break aspect ratio & re-size.
