birthday threads are something that 100% of the community can be involved in without having to learn a [complicated] set of technical and social rules.

        Re: POLL: TWG Threads

A bunch of those threads probably are the result in the change in how the forum operates. We've recently changed the forum to run more like a TWG centered Chit Chat. The game threads are only in the forum while they are being run, and TWG players as well as forum regulars are welcome to make threads discussing TWG, strategies for it and Etc.

The only thing people aren't allowed to do is post comments about games currently being run.

Your argument here can be applied to any number of forums, some good examples:
        Games Forum - Spammy
Sports Subforum - [complicated] set of technical and social rules that don't interest everyone.

100% of the community could be involved with TWG (we're all inclusive!). But you're right in an aspect. It is a technical and emotional game and not everyone is interested in it. If you're not interested, use the New Posts feature and avoid the forum entierly.

(I won't deny that a bunch of the threads you linked were spammy. But what happens when a spammy post is made in chit chat? it's ignored or locked untill it's no longer relevent. I'd suggest treating those threads just like you treat a CC thread that's a waste of time.)

          Re: POLL: TWG Threads

it's not like new threads are bumped every 2 seconds anyway, I objectively don't see it as a big deal at all given forum activity level. don't care either way but really not a problem in my eyes

Saying that [TWG] should be added for TWG area threads is just like saying we should add [FFR R1 Gen], [Chit Chat], etc; if you aren't a TWG player and click a TWG thread with no intentions of reading/playing, hit the back button on your browser and simply make a mental note about the thread existing on the front page. TWG is typically very fast paced and there may undoubtedly be players checking those threads very frequently.
