I've been playing FFR for about 6 months now, and I find that it very difficult for me to clear some songs. For example, in "uber rave" I find myself pressing random keys for the faster parts. Does anyone have advice on how I should fix this problem and become a better FFR player?

Try easier songs than Uber Rave. Maybe NeoMAX? -
Try using different styles. For a loooooong time I was a one-hander and sucked, but then I changed to two hands and it was magic! I pwned at everything!Comment

Play Stepmania. I wouldn't know about playing Stepmania because I dont have the right graphics card. I just practiced my ass off for almost a year. Now songs like Uber Rave are easy. But that was off the topic. ^^

No, I'm focused with one hand. Play the PS2 games Frequency and/or Amplitude.
I've been playing for 6 months and I've finally beaten Uberrave. Of corse my style with one hand is a kinda weirdly positioned 3 fingered dealy-o so I don't have a speed problem. It's mostly concentration.
Besides, my left hand gets cramps.

Get Stepmania. No matter what playing style you use, this will help you more than anything else possibly could.
Whats your finger position? Standard one handed position is as follows:
Left arrow: index
Up and Down arrows: middle finger for both
Right arrow: ring finger
Anyway, it you enjoy playing one handed, then by all means stick with it. It may take a while, but eventually you will be able to beat all but the most retarded of bullshit.

yeah i use two. it doesnt stress me as much when playing with two hands.
