Jacks!!!!!

As I usually play FFR i try to avoid the jack files as best as I can but still push my limits. But as I enter the 77+'s jacks just seem ... inevitable. Being my worst pattern I want to try to improve. Especially since my tourney song just kills me with those jump jacks towards the end that screw with my PA. Any suggestions?

- Place your thumb behind the finger you use to jack for more control.
- Double tap the second to last arrow to avoid a boo at the end.
- Try to conserve energy by tapping more lightly, it will help keep up stamina.

What's the fastest jacks you can AAA?

There's a few songs in alternative engine that could be worth trying etc.

just practice on files that rely heavily on jacks on the lower end files and slowly work you way up (and by lower end I mean mid 40s - high 60s (blu's & EN's Counter Strike Custom Sounds, Mysterious Desert, Club, Nitrix, Fei Longer, Starlight, Scars of Our Time, etc.)

edit: and what Haku said, try alternate engines that has jack files.

the only thing you can do to get better at them is to practice. whether it be on long vibr8 jacks or on minijacks.. just practice, that's it

Just tighten your arm/hand up when jacking, it creates the same effect without having to switch your thumb back and forth.

errr, I would suggest the exact opposite, nail those jacks and nail them hard. I find it to be more consistent and audible that way for accuracy sake.

I also do better hitting them harder than normal. With lighter keytaps it's easier for me to lose the timing and goodrush.

Do what I do and just whore Fish Hell until you can't fucking stand it anymore. Then play it some more and you'll get a sense of what you'll need to do to do jacks faster than that.

I find it easier to do when I hit the keys hard. Gives me some more control as well as some audible signal that I'm hitting the jacks at the right time.

This helps me greatly with the intro of Demon Beast Appearance. If I don't focus on the fact that there's a lot of one-handed control involved and just keep my taps regular, I can usually get past the first 400 notes with 1-3 goods.

Jacks longer than 4-5 notes are where I notice a dropoff in my speed, especially when I know that that's all there is. Grist is a modest 140 bpm and I can barely PA the intro of that, though for some reason I can hit the first burst. Against jacks faster than 10 notes per second, all I can do is vibrate (preferably with my right hand--I used to tackle the ending of AIM Anthem this way back when I used the arrow keys) and hope for the best.

My suggestion: play 77+ files that don't have jacks, like Twister.

Well actually I always seem to blow it on jacks, the highest AAA jack file i can do is probably the replicator but that is because I just abused the hell out of that song. I guess that's a strategy lol
