i dont see how speed changes would be the hardest to code. it's just 1 number that changes, isnt it? i mean, with stepmania u can go in, add a 1 line entry and BAM! you have your own speed mods. somebody please explain why it's so hard.

this isnt complaining, i'm just wondering. i dont see how tornado is easier to code than 1.5x speed.
So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(

In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.

So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.

Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O

well when synth made ffr he encoded all the songs to go at the same speed regardless of bpm, and entire coding for one game, its like rewriting the game over, and over, and over again get it?

Ok well see you add one line to the ini file but stepmania deals with the coding so that makes that a little bit harder...
In actionscript it all depends on how the engine is actually coded to see how hard it would be...

Just wait and they will come along with other mods...

well, there are BPMs changes in at least 1 song, so it's possible. only problem is it looks mega choppy. i think thats a flash thing, because it goes in frames, so it has to move in increments, and unless he can make it go at a higher frames per second, he wouldnt be able to make good looking bpm changes. i guess thats why the new release will be all code

lets just say that stepmania makes life easier than it really is. In reallity, in stepmania, when you switch the speed, you think yyour doing it manually, but in reallity, stepmania saves you time and does it all for you by having you do one simple thing.

If it moves, shoot it 0.o

Haa Haa!!! I win! You lose! Get used to it!!!!!

EvilButterfly.. Here is the best way to explain it.

Omg, it would be so easy to make my 1987 geo metro 3 cylinder engine go as fast as a Dodge Viper if I press the gas pedal a little harder.. I mean it just needs more gas right?

                  Cheers,

Yeah, there is factors like the arrows spreading out.. if it was that easy, it'd have been done. If he just increased the speed, all the arrows would be going faster, and it'd be way off beat, and the arrows would finish well before the song. Synth's explanation is good.

                    (Ooh, and Synths back )
