Thank you all for your advice. Quite the range of comments but I will be sure to try most (all) of these.

Oh, also ~ I usually play on a Mac laptop. So those are my keys...
Would that be good enough? I get better whenever I take my keyboard protector case off, didn't learn that one for a while lolz

Also I can barely FC 40's atm ... somehow I managed to FC one 60 but that was one of the "Games we played" songs... But I'll keep workin'

i play on mbp as well, and use the keyboard when i'm not at home.
but i much prefer the mac wired keyboard. i have a lot more speed on that one, and it's less effort to play.

It also depends on what your problem is. Some players use obscenely fast speedmods (see KrazyKistune). On Rsquared I use 2.5 but even then that engine is not suitable for AAA scoring for me.

You need to determine which engine works best for you, if you have reading problems, and if you have pattern problems. The Velocity Engine gives me the best scores and I use 1.75x on it.

I tried using the Velocity Standalone, but for Mac's its broken. I posted a topic about it a month or two ago but it never got resolved or worked on :\

So here's what I can tell you

1. Make sure you're able to read EVERYTHING you'll have to handle in D3 songs. This ranges from high Very Difficult to mid Masters typically.

2. Check your speed mod. If ANY song seems to scroll to fast, you're probably using to fast a speed mod. Don't be afraid to try bumping it down to play with it either. I found that occasionally bumping my 2.0 mod down to sometimes 1.75 causes me to think a little more of what I'm doing.

3. Think about what you're actually hitting. Not just in terms of pattern, but what parts of the music can give you audio cues that a section you may not be good at is coming up.

4. Try to control your blinking. Less blinking is better but don't push it toooooo much. I blink more is less dense sections than I do in denser sections.

5. Don't forget not to over work yourself. Breaks can be as helpful as actually practicing.

6. If a section is giving you LOADS of trouble, get a framer analysis and look at what you're doing and try to think of a way to tackle the pattern.

7. The one most would tell you, try and practice a little bit on Stepmania. It will help, but the only thing that's gonna make or break a skill boost is you actually knowing what you're doing.

But these are just tips, how you execute them or if you chose to is up to you. But I cannot stress the break one enough. Sometimes you just need to relax.

it stopped working over a year ago.
and from what i know no more development is going into it.

pity you're not a vet, cuz R^2&3 work.
but, before that was around, i used legacy.
Legacy works fine for mac

Number 3 so hard. This is especially helpful with layered sections and jumpstream. Yeah, Stepmania will give you more songs, tighter windows and harder songs, but Middie is correct in that you have to actually know what you're capable of and where to go from there.

The only thing I can add to this: DO NOT MASH. At all. It forms bad habits and tends to exacerbate the fatigue issue.

i know velo made R^2 public for the tournament, so i guess it's stayed public
