It's the nerves building up haha. In most tournaments i've ever participated in, I get similar scores. SDG then like 30 goods 15 boos constantly. The only way I've seen people get rid of them really are just taking a break from the song.

Playing only one chart for countless amounts of times will have you develop mindblocks.

Forget about it if you can't get it after numerous attempts; play another song, something else or catch some fresh air then come back later
The only thing you really develop from playing something again and again is if its something really hard/stamina draining and you're training your stamina

1) you're doing the same thing over and over. The margin of error is increasing as you play. Play 10-20 random songs, come back and try again. It helps me.

2) you're also probably wearing out your wrists. Worsening scores is a really strong sign to take a break.

I would suggest not playing the same song more than 3 times in a row.

I can never play a song more than once without doing worse on it haha. It's a problem I've always had. I usually have to go play a few other songs and go back to it.

People say practice makes perfect, but the truth is practice makes permanent. If you are making mistakes and keep playing that way you will train yourself to do it wrong. This is related to what we call mental blocks around here. Best way to clear that up is to give yourself a break, either from the song or sometimes from the game itself. How much of a break you need and how long before you need such breaks are going to vary person to person so just find what works for you.

Also like kmay said, playing harder songs in the mean time is a good idea because then when you come back it feels easy.

Repeatedly playing the same song can do certain things:
- Give mindblocks or bad habits
- Too many nerves building up, making it harder to keep yourself composed while playing
- Splitting issues

I've had the third issue happen to me plenty of times. For instance, I tried whoring Scrap Syndrome for an hour. Incredibly retarded mistake. Never whore the same file for that long. It felt like I lost a shitload of skill, I literally could not play because of how uncontrolled my wrists were on such awkward parts.

You aren't losing skill, just making it worse for yourself.
