Does stream color matter?

I've been wondering if the color/timing of streams affects how well i do on them. I've always felt i've been able to read 24th & 32nd stream better than 16th stream, even when they are similar speeds.
take monstrous turtles which is a bit faster 32nd stream than vertex beta, at 16th stream. Obviously the streams are much longer in VB, but i find i have a harder time reading them. Purple is 16th stream, faster than both those, but i find it much harder than heavenly spores, 24th stream, even though it is a bit slower.

i wonder if the fact that there are 4 colors in 24th & 32nd stream makes a difference compared to 3 in 16th.

any thoughts?

The amount of colors greatly affects reading ability for some people. I'm terrible at free-form colored areas, which is why songs like Planet Karma gave me trouble for a while.

Also, this concept of reading is the reason why I made the halved note noteskin for SM -- I wanted to be able to turn 32nd streams into 16th streams in appearance. I find it much easier to tackle one huge 16th stream on SM than a huge 32nd stream.

32nd streams generally mess me up worse than 16th streams (even if they're at the same speed). I can sometimes trip up on the 32nd streams in colorful course, where it changes from 32nd to 16th near the end.

haven't came across a decent 64th stream, other than 64th rolls and 64th trills at the slowest. Also, when will someone make a half decent 48th stream? Haven't seen one of those in any songs I've played...

I actually think part of the reason I passed Destination of the Heart first instead of Destination relapse on pad was because DotH was 400bpm eigth notes and Relapse was 200bpm 16ths... I just like 2 colors more

I've always had trouble with 32nd streams because of the lack of color contrast. In between each blue you get orange yellow orange red orange yellow orange which can all run together. 24ths are a little better since the pinks are bright and the purples pretty dark to give a little contrast.

16th streams are always the easiest though because (a) they're so common and (b) they have high contrast all the time.

This. I find 24th/12th streams much harder to read compared to 32nds or 16ths.

16ths > 32nds > 48ths > 8ths > 12ths > 24ths

Strangely I prefer 32nds over 16ths
Also, 4th stream = epilepsy

So I finally got around to playing a bit with it

And I have to say I'm liking this. I find it much easier to read red blue and yellow (What I'm mostly accustomed to seeing) over the idea of orange ect.

Though it'll take more getting used to be definite / sure, I might actually switch to playing like this. I found as I was doing the Holy Order's chart that I was decimating MA wise more than I normally do, and I didn't even change how I was hitting anything.
