step files help

i am interested in stepping some files for FFR so i searched for tutorials and guides etc, i cant find any, the only one a i found was on here but it says to download stepmania 3.9, 3.95 or 4.0, when i download them none of them even have edit songs, its blanked out so i cant go into it, stepmania 5 just gives me an error as soon as i try to change something in any song or do anything inside editor, so if someone can give a detailed explanation, step by step or make a video i would be very thankful.

FFR has given me good fun for the last few months so i want to give something back!

Of course you won't find songs when you download Stepmania - you have to add them in yourself! If you want to step something for FFR, make sure you step a song from artists of whom we've obtained permission for. See this link for such a list.
