    Desyncing Problems

    Hey guys,

I've recently come across some de-syncing issues while playing lately. It seems like the arrows are going at a slower rate than the music. Is there any way to solve this issue? I've refreshed the page and closed and re-opened my browser several times (Chrome).

    Thanks for the help

This doesn't directly answer your question, but I'd suggest checking out this, which will give you another way to play the game and quite possibly reduce lag you might be having as well. Make sure you find and read the original post in the thread to view all the information!

Do you mean the files are actually slower than the music or they aren't synced with the song?

If they aren't synced, make sure the offset is 0 in the settings and maybe try another version of flash

If they files are actually slower, congrats on 1055 AAAs

it has nothing to do with the simfiles. they're running flawlessly with no lag. it's just a matter of the timing of the arrows with the song. the offset is already at 0, and i'm running the latest version of flash. could be my browser.

If the song is getting hit early (or late) and feel that it is going out of sync, it is because honestly (in my opinion,) everyone tends to hit the notes a tad bit early to make room for PA. If you don't like this, you can change the offset in the settings menu to a number that you feel most comfortable with. That way, you won't have to deal with the early or late hitting of notes. I had to play with an offset of -2 for the first 9 difficulties in songs, but went back to an offset of 0 when I got better.

If you feel that the songs are slowly going out of sync the longer that you play the song, it is possible that the song was started with the wrong BPM, leading to offbeat notes, or some other error that I'm not aware of and I'm pretty sure no one could help you with that other than saying that maybe it would be nice to step up your software to something more updated, or to reduce as much lag as possible while playing a song as songs slowly becoming offbeat is sometimes related to lag.

If you need the arrows to come sooner, set an negative offset like -1, or -2. If you need them to come later, set a positive offset. That's it.

That might be the problem. It's not -wrong- to have an offset that's a value other than 0. Some songs will require you to change the offset to get the syncing right.

I know others have said the same thing, but I'll go into a bit more detail. Negative-value offsets are for cases where the arrows are arriving too late. A negative value therefore -reduces- the amount of time at the start of the song. Conversely, a positive value offset -adds- time at the beginning of the song, in cases when the arrows are arriving too early. Both cases should compensate for any gap/sync issues.
