Due to the discussion in this thread here, I have taken it upon myself to run an unofficial version of the official tournament that is based on cumulative scoring as opposed to the usual elimination style tournament that is used for the official. So you got eliminated in the official? No worries, have a chance to redeem yourself, have motivation to play the other songs, and to continue along in your rivalries by participating in Benguin's Unofficial 9th Official Tournament- ∑ Edition (^)>
Tourney Structure
This tournament will have the exact same structure as that of the official, the only difference is that instead of eliminating players each round, we will be using cumulative scoring. Read this post for an overview of the structure of the official tournament. The winner in each division at the end of the tourney is the user who has the highest sum of round scores.
Round Information
The start and end of each round in the official tournament is the same as the start and end of each round in this tournament with the same songs for each respective division.
Divisions
Your division in this tournament is your division in the official tournament, it is as simple as that
Sign-ups
First of all, in order to participate in this tournament, you need to be participating in the official tournament. (Exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis, please PM me).
You may sign up at any time as long as you have your scores in on time for every round (which means to have your scores record to the official dash if you have not been eliminated yet and to start submitting scores for this tournament via screenshot submission once you have been eliminated). Once you say you are "in" for this tournament, I will start keeping track of your cumulative scores along with everyone else in the tournament regardless if you have been eliminated yet.
Exception: The only exception is if you plan to ghost a division. If you want to ghost a division, you must sign-up and submit a score before the end of round 1. Also, if you are division N, you may only ghost division N-1 and/or N+1.
Score Submission
For this tournament, you will post scores via screenshot submission. You may either send the screenshot to me via PM or you may post your screenshot in this thread. All screenshots must have the username and timestamp or I will not count it. Replays are not a valid form of submission.
Late Scores
Send me a PM before the end of the round if you need more time to submit a score and I will (likely) allow you an extension. Otherwise, if you fail to give me prior notice before the end of the round, you will receive a score of zero for that round.
