    2025 Lemonade Swim Meet

(hey just so you know you can click the banner for a quick link to the spreadsheet)

Time to cool off from this summer heat and take a dip in the pool: welcome to the Summer 2025 Lemonade Swim Meet! The competition doesn't stop just because you've gone swimming -- you'll be battling it out against a lower group to fight for glory.

    How does this work?
You can start submitting scores for the current round's song for the Group below the Bracket you've been eliminated in. (e.g.: Players eliminated from Bracket 5 would submit for Group 4 here, etc.)

Players will be added to the spreadsheet as soon as they're eliminated from the Official Tournament. You can find which Group you'll be ghosting in the Participants tab on the spreadsheet.

You'll be trying to match your Group's cutoff to advance in the event. If your score is above cutoff by the end of the round, you'll advance to the next round. If not, you'll drift off into the lemonade for good.

What if I was in Group 1?
You'll ghost Group 1 as if you were still playing, and you can't be eliminated as long as you Pass your song every round. You'll get to have credit prizes every round and no worries about elimination from this event for as long as you play!

    How do I sign up?
There's no sign-ups for this event -- as long as you participated in the 18th Official Tournament and you weren't eliminated by inactivity (a.k.a. your score was at least a Pass), you're automatically signed up!

    When does it start?
Right now! If you're eliminated from the OT and you had a passing score, then hop to it!

    How do I submit scores?
This one's new to this iteration of the Lemonade Swim Meet: you don't have to! Play the game and your scores will be submitted automatically. No Google Forms, no forum posts, no nothing - as long as your score submits successfuly to FFR's servers, it'll show up on the spreadsheet, fully automated.

    What spreadsheet?
    This one right here!

    What are the prizes?
If you score well enough to advance to the next round in the Group you're ghosting, you will receive a credit prize for each round you advance. Each further round you advance will net you more credits.

If you were to match or exceed the top score in your Group, you'll also get a bonus credit prize! In case you were in Bracket 1 before being eliminated, you can get the bonus prize by just matching the cutoff for your group.

Any player who completes 3 or more rounds in this event will also receive an Event Token of their choosing.

If you survived until Round 4 or 5 in your group prior to being eliminated, you may still win an Event Token if you manage to survive all the cutoffs until the end of the tournament and "win" in the Group below you.

Prizes will be distributed at the end of the event.

      Re: 2025 Lemonade Swim Meet

Currently the prize-pool is made in a way where (ignoring bracket 1):
People who score 13th or worse in the Official Tournament have 1 almost guaranteed Event Token through participation
People who score 9th to 12th are not eligible for an OT token nor a Lemonade token
People who score 8th or better are eligible for scoring a Lemonade token through an alternate route.

Why is 9th-12th place getting screwed with Event Tokens here? I presumed the "survive all cutoffs and "win"" rule was to make it so that if you could not get the 3-round participation prize there is chance at an event token, but 9-12th place are falling outside of this boat.

THERE USED TO BE A GRAPH HERE, IT WAS WRONG, SEE THE POST TWO BELOW THIS ONE

My main concern here is that this set-up could have motivated players to drop out pre-emptively with a pass but bad score to guarantee themselves an event-token if they thought they wouldn't have made top 8, and players who end up in the 9th-12th (because of those actions or because they just happen to be exactly that good) get punished for not using this tactic in terms of their total prize pool across these two connected events

Next year if the bracket cutoff is right at my level again I'm just gonna bag and take the free eliminated token instead.

Yeah, it's because of that (to allow players to still win tokens with less than 3 rounds), and for what it's worth the spreadsheet is still set up to track them correctly and they're not being "screwed". This is just a miswording and has been fixed.

I appreciate the concern, but I don't believe anyone was mistaken about how the rules *should* work and I can be reasonably sure nobody sandbagged over this.

Thanks for the update! My main concern wasn't this tournament no worries, it's just that it's a general worry if this is kept up in the future, glad to hear it was a simple mistake in rule-writing, may your tournament organising be smooth!
