If you mash, and only if. Stepmania only got easier because you don't get as much Boos as you can get in FFR, and if you mash in SM, no more combos but in FFR you can mash all theway to the end... Just don't overdo it.

actually... SM is still much easier then ffr... because on SM, you can set up things like 3x, and all that awesome stuff, so when you're playing, you don't have to hit a bunch of spaced together notes...
