If you see an obviously stupid bump like this, there are two things that can happen:

-No one responds to it. A mod sees it and quickly deletes the offending post, removing the thread from the front page and putting it back to page 566 or wherever it belongs.

or

-Like 6 people respond to it, the first two being people telling the bumper they're being dumb, and the next four being people telling the two that they're dumb for responding. A mod comes and locks the thread, since there are too many posts to delete. The thread pointlessly occupies space on the front page for a while, which is exactly what the no-bumping rule is designed to prevent.

The first situation is far preferable. So please, when you see a retarded bump, don't comment on it. And yes, we've discussed making this bannable, even if it's not right now...but regardless, it's still a bad thing to do. Thanks.
