It was implied with no extra mods other than scroll mods.... That AA doesn't count.

That's because it changes the jump patterns, making them easier if you get a good shuffle. Mirror is always the same, while shuffle isn't. Haven't played A on mirror, but I can imagine that some parts could be easier.
