I played on techno fiend for a bit... it was horrible for my timing and arrow reading skills... I got like... 12 greats on murmur and rarely fc'd... Now I can blackflag/AAA with pretty decent MA... Why? I switched back to default XD

well, depends... I say (considering that I'm a "standard" 4 finger 2 hands player) that the swapping of the up and down arrows is VERY disorienting... Normally I don't think of the arrows as directions, but rather as 4 columns lining up with my 4 fingers... I might even have problems passing songs I would normally FC...
