The Timing of the Arrows

After visiting a few other forums and seeing what people had to say about FFR so far, I have noticed that some of the really advanced DDR players have thrown many compliments our way but sometimes complained about the arrows being slightly offbeat at times.

I wanted to stress that this was due to my very own inability to be machine perfect when I tapped out the beats for that song on the keyboard. The FFR engine is sound and will keep perfect sync. Luckily we won’t have to worry about that much longer since BPRC is working on the visual beat editor and I have finished the DWI <--> FFR stepfile converter.

Don’t forget how beta this project is. 2 months ago not a single part of it existed.

Wondering how to change your auto-generated password? Just login and go to “My Account” under the Main Menu.. From there just edit your info and you should be set.

Hmmm.. Secret you say?

Hmmm.. secret level.. hidden somewhere in the game say you? Hmmm… Level is test of DWI converter? Hmmm..

Some of you have already found this secret level it.. Not that it is hard to find… Thought I would mention it anyway. It is very temporary and may dissapear at any moment. Was being used strictly for testing purposes.

Another Day, Another Site

Everyone will need to reregister so you can use the new forum and special features on the site. I was not able to convert the old database. Sorry to all the 30+ members. Luckily I made this switch early to avoid the problem down the road.

I thought it was about time that our FFR site got itself a facelift. You will notice we have changed from a frames based site into a full fledged PostNuke system.We are trying to make this site as useful as possible and would like to offer everyone new features like:

1. FFR you can download and make your own songs for.

2. FFR that you can put on your own website with songs that you make.

3. Online DWI <--> FFR converter

4. More robust forum that covers not only FFR but all other forms of DDR type games.

5. Downloads section to download legal FFR songs and step files.

6. High-Bandwidth and Low Bandwidth versions as well as CPU-Intensive and CPU-Lite versions. All selectable within FFR itself.

7. Legal downloads for other DDR type games.

There are many more features in the works but the features mention above are the ones we would like to focus on. Many of these features are close to being finished and you should see them surface soon (like the DWI converter).

60,000 Plays on FFR

Today marks 60,000+ plays on FFR. I think it is amazing how far this project has come in the month that this website has been up. FFR continues to get facelifts and updated code daily (even if i don’t mention it . I would also like to mention that I have finally finished my DWI <--> FFR online converter and will be putting that up shortly so that you can easily convert songs into the FFR format and send them to us. We are still working on a visual arrow editor and should have that done very soon. Hopefully once we finish optimizing the code a little more we can offer a downloadable version that still connects to the internet for hi-scores.

Hi-Score Confusion

Because of some of the confusion surrounding the top scores, I will be changing the way it works so that hopefully the confusion is eliminated. Right now you are only able to enter your name if your score is greater than #11 on the scores for that song. This brings about some confusion only because you are able to view the #50 and people are wondering why if they get a #28 or #39 etc…etc.. score that they cannot enter their name.
Well today I am changing this so that you can enter your name if you are within the top 50 but you will only see the top 10 scores from within the ‘end game screen’. You will still be able to view all top 50 scores from the games main screen as well as the upper right frame.

Did that make sense? I think I confused even myself.

Something a little new

Something a little new for tonight. For once the update is with the FFR page itself and not the actual game. You will notice that you can check the hi-scores quickly and at any time by clicking on the corresponding song in the upper right frame. The game still plays like normal and nothing has changed with it’s operation.

Preloader #2

Version #2 of the song preloader is up and active. It is not quite where I want it to be but it is getting there. Hope you enjoy it.

Graphic Changes

I couldn’t help myself. I felt this incredible urge to change the look of the in game graphics. Please don’t hurt me. I just cannot leave anything alone for long.
