There’s a Snake in My Boots

Posted in Uncategorized on December 17th, 20022 Comments »

After a few quick changes to Beta .44, I am going to be resetting the hi-scores tonight at 6pm CST. Just thought I would send out the alert for those of you who wanted to get into the top 50.

Your Knew it Was on it’s Way

There is a new genre and song up this afternoon. The genre is Classical and the song is “Fast Piano” by Philip Glass. The steps were created by Hyrogashi (remember chrono trigger?)

WARNINGS: THIS LEVEL IS DIFFICULT! BEGINNERS STAY AWAY.
Set your quality setting to low unless you have a really fast machine due to the number of arrows on screen at any given time.
Don’t forget to CLEAR your CACHE if you don’t see the classical section.

The fury of arrows will astonish you while at the same time amaze you with how very beautiful this FFR level is. I sat in my chair for atleast 10 minutes watching the level in my ‘preview’ mode. Hyrogashi has done an excellent job at conveying the music through a series of simple arrows. He took quite a few days getting this one together and it definately shows. Congrats to Hyrogashi on a job well done.

Thanks for the submission.

P.S. Fear not, I still have a cache of about 5 songs I need to adjust and convert. I will get atleast 2 more up by late tonight or early morning. (sorry guys, it is early morning and the songs are still not up. Getting there)

*BUGFIX* Negative scores now display correctly for all levels. Previously, the “-” symbol was not showing.

New Revision for Online Version .44 Beta

Posted in Uncategorized on December 13th, 20023 Comments »

Time again to clear those caches and check the new version. The new .44 version includes 2 new genre’s. “dance2″ and “rock”. I have also included 2 songs in the Dance2 genre to keep you busy until I am done converting everyones songs (I will get to them shortly).

To ease the pain as our library of songs grows, I put together a temporary genre selector which will make things a little easier until Remix #2. I never expected to have this many songs when i originally thought about the interface.

More to come but that is all for now. Enjoy!

Additional Server to Make Life Easier

First off, I just wanted to thank the people who have sent us donations thru Paypal. You know who you are and we are very grateful for your contributions. Every little bit helps. Thank you very very much.

Second, I wanted to let all the FFR players know that we have secured a second server. This server is of much higher quality, is a dedicated server (like the one we are on now) , is about 2-3x as fast as our current server. Most importantly this server will allow us to serve as much data as we need without any transfer limitations. This means that for Remix #2, we could literally serve 1000′s of levels with no limitations or additional charges.

This server does not come cheap but I am so excited about this project and would like to push FFR up a notch in the near future with “Remix #2″. We have so much planned and it is SO hard not to talk about it all.

Again, thanks to everyone for their support. It is always nice to hear from people who talk about ‘way back in the days’ and refer to 1 1/2 months ago. :)

Long Live FFR :)

New Minor Revision Update To Be Released in 24 Hours or Less

Posted in Uncategorized on December 12th, 20023 Comments »

I have a few new songs and a few new sections going live within the next 24 hours. If you were thinking about wrapping up those .dwi files for inclusion, now is the time to send them in. I could hint that the new songs would be available tonight but I cannot promise that.

FFR Popularity Is Sky Rocketing!

A little over a month ago I stumbled across Flash Flash Revolution in the forums on ddrfreak.com. Curious, and not knowing what it was, I ventured into the site and quickly became addicted. I have seen this site grow, and its populatiy too. As I type, there are 125 guests and 10 Users online. I remember, not too long ago, when the average people online was 8.
FFR has even been featured on www.ddrmaniax.net (a DWI dedicated site).
I applaud the efforts of everyone who helped make this fun, yet addicting, game possible.

AT LONG LAST!!! THE BEAST ARRIVES!!

Posted in Uncategorized on December 10th, 20022 Comments »

Yes indeed.. The first version of the downloadable beta is ready to fly and in the Downloads section. Please be kind to our baby. (but don’t forget you can still play online)

You will need to register with the site if you want to be on the public beta for this version. Registration takes about 1-2 minutes and you are instantly approved.

I am just glad that we finally reached a point where we could offer a downloadable version. Thanks to everyone who has helped get those bugs out and stuck around even when the site looked like.. well… you know what I am talking about.

The downloadable version is IDENTICAL to the online version only it allows you to play just the very first 4 songs. This keeps from having to download a huge file. As the beta matures, we will release more and more songs from the online version. As well as new flavors of the downloadable version that can have it’s songs changed.

Current downloadable version is Beta .43 and for PC only.

Mac version to arrive asap.

Go register and play! good luck!Btw, the internet scoring for this version still works but is not connected to the same set of scores as the online version.

The Thirst for Competition

Posted in Uncategorized on December 10th, 20025 Comments »

I was thinking tonight.. which is very unlike me.

I was thinking about having online competitions with prizes. Maybe a 2 hour open competition on a new song for the week. At the end of the 2 hours, the person with the highest score wins the prize/money/status :) . Maybe we have a minimum entry fee and the money is held in a paypal account? The winner gets 100% of the money sent to him/her?

How about some ideas? Feel free to post your comments. I am pretty much brainstorming at this point.
