Slap Me Silly!

The wonderful folks at TechTV.com were nice enough to feature us in an episode of “The Screen Savers”. I do not have TechTV unfortunately so I was not able to view the airing. I was only able to tell by the fact that all the hits almost brought our server to it’s knees. :) Thanks to the staff at TechTV that put our little game on the air. You can see the link here –>www.techtv.com/screensavers/?nnav

Thanks again TechTV.

P.S. If anyone from TechTV or otherwise could send me a capture of the airing, I would be most grateful.

Welcome the celldweller

I have recently been in contact with celldweller and they have allowed the use of “Stay With Me (Unlikely)” as the first song in the rock section for FFR.. If you like this song or industrial metal in general, you should definately go check out the celldweller website

Klayton of celldweller has produced works for groups like Prong and numerous film and TV shows.

A complete .mp3 of “Stay With Me (Unlikely)” will be available in the downloads section for those who are interested.

Thanks go out to the celldweller staff for being helpful and understanding. For those of you who cannot see the song yet, make sure you clear your cache.

Cheers,

Synthlight

Want to be a Winner? We all do.

Flash Flash Revolution is holding it’s first contest.

The contest will involve stepfile creation for 2 songs that are soon to be released on FFR. Both songs are available in the “Downloads” area.

#1 Dendrite by Spook Goblin
#2 SkellyBones by Analog Boy

The winner for each song will be sent an FFR t-shirt from the FFR online store.

Contest starts as of this posting and ends next Friday (Jan 10th, 2003). Entries will be reviewed and winner seleced by the FFR staff. The winners will have their stepfile and related music track entered into the FFR engine within 48 hours of contest end.

Non-winning entries may be used within FFR Remix #2.

Good luck to everyone and thanks for supporting FFR. Make sure you read the details in the extended text of this post.Details:

FFR Staff will only accept .DWI and .SM format

Preffered correct BPM

FFR converter engine does not support changing BPM during the song so the beats in the later half of skellybones will have to be as close as you can get them.

Nothing quicker than 1/16th notes.

No borrowing from existing or copyrighted .dwi files or other similiar types of work.

Enter as often as you like

Nothing out of the oridinary (freeze/stop arrows etc)

send .dwi and .sm files to [email protected]

First off… There is a new level in the Dance2 section called “HELLBEAT” and it is exactly that. I wanted to get some easier songs out for the newbies but this one found it’s way onto the server first. Arktisk (David Poore) created this punishing beat upon request from Hyrogashi. Thanks Arktisk for that crazy beat. Hyrogashi once again sends the masses running in all directions with his unstoppable barrage of arrows. This is another one of those levels that I probably won’t be able to complete for a long time.. a long long time. Good luck. Don’t forget to CLEAR that CACHE!

On a side note, I am sorry for being so silent for the last week. I have had the holidays and some crazy work hours trying to finish up projects for clients. I actually pulled a 38 hour workday over the weekend. Getting back on track with FFR today.

o A few things to apologise for…

First things first,
H A P P Y _ N E W _ Y E A R _ E V E R Y B O D Y !

Secondly, I have to apologise to you all. I know quite alot of you have been expecting rock songs for some time now and because I havent gotten around to resampling them for synth, you do not have them – whether or no you’d of thought anything other than ‘shit, these suck!’ when you played on them is another matter entirely. Furthermore, as all the songs I have created are copyrighted songs, just edited – I dont know wether Ive made things more or less illegal – heeheehee. So dont expect to see them anytime this week, but I’ll get them sent out eventually. Perhaps if you want to see my songs (3 rock, one classical and one arcade) send me some nasty emails or PM’s (and by nasty emails i mean text only abuse, under 5k. Not the worm type of evil email that means you’ll never get the songs. :)

Furthermore, I want to tell you all not to blame synth for lack of updates as I’ve recently found out what its like not to have the time, being stuck away from my computer for a week now – with no sign of me getting back to it – especially with my finals and college applications, not to mention the prom – all lurking around the corner

Rock’em Sock’em Fix’em

Posted in Uncategorized on December 27th, 20022 Comments »

Made some really minor adjustments to FFR this morning. I changed the look of the arrows when they are hit correctly (purple tint). I also fixed a bug in the scoring which allow people to enter their name multiple times if they had a hi-score. You may have noticed someone with the same score 10 or so times. This was due to this hi-score but and has been fixed now. I did not bump it up a revision because the changes were not great enough. It remains at .44

Hope Santa was good to everyone! See you in the forums.

*EDIT* Minor bug caused scoring issue because of above fix. All is fixed…. Clear your cache and away you go.

Thank you FFR
