SpinItUp Version .83 Beta
Some significant little additions for SpinItUp tonight. We finally show the “spinfile artist” during song load and after the song is finished. The game now shows the BPM of the song while browsing on the wheel, during loading and after on the score screen.
BPM is important because it is now tied directly to the speed of the waves. This makes each song a little more unique and speed modifiers now = BPM + or – Speedmod.
The timing method has been switched up once again and you should find it to be pinpoint accurate even at .25x
7 new songs were added tonight. This makes 18 songs total in SIU. The total list now looks like this:
LEVEL 1: Platypus
LEVEL 2: End Night
LEVEL 3: Delirium
LEVEL 4: Secret Zombie Room
LEVEL 5: MoonBeam
LEVEL 5: Error
LEVEL 5: Balloon Fever
LEVEL 6: Trip to the Moon
LEVEL 6: Cutting Circles
LEVEL 6: KlungKung 2004
LEVEL 6: Ravers Fantasy -Speedy-
LEVEL 6: Error -System Remix-
LEVEL 7: Go Go Power Rangers
LEVEL 7: Dot Death
LEVEL 7: State of Emergency^2
LEVEL 8: Ub3R R4vE
LEVEL 8: Lovely Lovely Lovely
LEVEL 8: State of Emergency
Cheers,
FFR Staff and Spins
*EDIT* – I would like to welcome Darkchao56 as our newest artist/spinfile author. You can check out his first submission as KlungKung 2004 (Difficulty 6).
True Speed Mods for SpinItUp
Tonight we release SpinItUp Version .79. This is a partially rewritten SpinItUp engine that handles one of the many new features in development, speedmods. Speedmods (for those of you who don’t know) alter the scroll rate of the waves. We use a new method of timing in order to use speedmods and you may find a few oddities with .25x rates in version .79. In the future this will be refined.
I have to warn you that Speed 5x is not for the weak of heart.
Cheers,

3rd Style Update!
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to keep everyone updated on our status with FFR 3rd Style. The programming part is moving along, but that’s not really my realm of expertise (Flash is like a foreign language to me). Instead, I’ve been working on gathering artists and songs for 3rd Style.
We have 21 songs gathered so far for 3rd Style, with absolutely no signs of stopping anytime soon. The best part about this is that I think that the music we’re getting is some of the best music we’ve ever had – and we’ve already got a great music lineup, so that’s saying a lot. In addition to new artists, there are many veteran FFR artists giving us new music – some who you would expect, some who you wouldn’t. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at some of the tracks you’ll find in 3rd Style.
Also, I know we’ve featured a lot of trance lately in our Songs of the Week, but the music we’ve got for 3rd Style is much more diverse. (I’ve got a genre list in front of me, and only four songs out of the 21 are trance!) There’ll be some much needed representation from other genres in the mix.
I am absolutely thrilled at all the progress we’ve been making so far. All of us are working really hard to make 3rd Style a reality, and I know you won’t be disappointed with the results.
Cheers,
Chardish and the rest of the 3rd Style team
SGX Music
Hey FFR folks! Just wanted to make it known that I have released a new album of original music. Two of the tracks (Crowdpleaser and Deep Breath) you might recognize from playing FFR, and I’m sure more of these songs will make it into FFR at some point also. Chroma is available as either a CD or a paid download. All details can be found here. I really appreciate the support and I think you’ll enjoy the album if you like the songs I have in FFR! Keep listening!

Song of the Week. Early or Late? You Decide.
Ok, so we finally were able to get song of the week out for everyone thanks to Jihnsius (music) and Kit- (stepfile). The new song is in the dance section for your playing enjoyment. Don’t forget to stop by the profiles of Jihnsius and Kit- and thank them.
Something new for SpinItUp tomorrow.
(new feature).
Cheers,

FFR Profile System Released
Today we release a comprehensive profile system that allows you to view important information about past games, multiplayer games, rankings and much more. Some of the information available in Profiles goes back 3 years or more and digs deep into our multi-gigabyte database on the server to pull records.
We thought it was about to time bring a user gallery back to FFR so that people can upload photos to the site. This same profile system that I described above allows you to upload any .png, .gif or .jpg file. These files are then resized, filed away and shown in your profile photos. Anyone can browse these photos without restriction. We have imposed certain limits on filesize and quantity of uploads, but for most, these limits will be unreachable.
Last but not least is the “Random Thoughts” and “Wall” section on the righthand side of your profile. You may use this area to enter unlimited entries for anyone to read while visiting your profile. The “Wall” area allows other visitors of your profile to enter comments when they visit and are typically short in length.
A big thanks goes out to lightdarkness for enduring our design demands and feature requests. Most ordinary people would have gone insane at this point, and he did. But that’s ok, he should be better in a few weeks. This is one of the many php projects he has seen through to completion on FFR and we look forward to what additional projects are in the cooker.
You may search other peoples profiles by clicking HERE
You can also edit your own profile or link others to your profile by simplying adding your name after profile/ like:
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/profile/lightdarkness
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/profile/bemaniruler
http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/profile/snapps
You get the idea.
Only when you view your own profile while logged in are you able to edit and add content.
Once again provided at no cost with no pop-ups and no hassle.. Enjoy.
Cheers,
The FFR Staff and a patch of sour kids

SpinItVersionSoontobeUP ;)
Alright alright.. We know you have all been waiting for a new revision of SpinItUP. The truth is, it has undergone a complete transformation. We have been busy integrating the new interface with the core engine that I created. In the process of integration, we have moved up nearly 20 revision numbers that have been unreleased to the public because certain parts of the game wouldn’t work correctly. But, alas, we finally have a version worth playing. We were up until the weeee hours of the night last night making sure that scores were reported correctly and that the interface was not failing on us.
Expect this new version of SpinItUP to be released sometime in the next 24 hours.. It will be (most likely) beta version .65 and should include atleast 5 levels, score recording, hi-score lists, interface to choose difficulty and songs and more. (you get the idea).. I will create a new news post or just append the release info onto this news story when it comes out.
Thanks to everyone for their patience while we worked quickly to release this newest version.
Cheers,
FFR Staff and Count Chocula
