100 News Stories for Rithum.com

Posted in Uncategorized on May 12th, 200730 Comments »

In just 1 week’s time Rithum.com has fulfilled it’s goal over delivering 100 news stories. This has happened because of the tireless hours and mornings that Mr. Nestlekwik has devoted to this budding site. Our uniques visitors are rising each day and the forum is really starting to take shape.

If you are interested in what people like us enjoy reading when we are not working our butts off on FFR related projects, head on over to Rithum.com and take a look. Stop by the forums and go congratulate Nestlekwik if you get the chance. I am sure he would love to hear some feedback. I know Rithum is actively starting to search for people to moderate the site now that it is out of the initial startup phase. Keep your eyes open.

Cheers,

2nd Official FFR Tournament is over!

Posted in Flash Flash Revolution on May 12th, 200746 Comments »

Around a week ago, the 2nd official FFR tournament ended. With a massive 1,000 signups, the competition was certainly fierce, but in the end, one player from each division managed to beat the competition and claim victory. There were many close matches throughout, but none could compare to the ridiculously close final round of Expert, where Jimerax beat Bill_clinton by a measly 3,000 points on Grand Gallop Chromatique, which amounts to something like 3 combo points out of around 1,900 combo for each player. Anyway, the winners are:

Expert:

1st ($60): jimerax
2nd ($30): bill_clinton
3rd ($15): dAnceguy117
Other high placers: Bahamut-X, Loyal2Death, Exag0n, Sprite-, tman139

Advanced:

1st ($40): drummerlsu
2nd ($20): Schrammbledeggs
3rd ($10): Doug31
Other high placers: Hammymcsquirrel, lxdestinyxl, dawg4321, Kit- (staff), BLAZZE, talisman

Intermediate:

1st ($30): A2_Sauce
2nd ($15): Loot You
3rd ($7): Zeron
Other high placers: Goldenwind, xXTranceXx, Alucard4_6, lacrossegod23, mymrpeas

Beginner:

1st ($20): jugglinguy
2nd ($10): brothaice
3rd ($5): DrawingJunkie
Other high placers: jigglyboy, mxpx9546, slickskater29, gothicmonkey, Grafx5

The top 3 in each division will receive however much money is next to their username, and all high placers (1st to 8th) who aren’t on staff will receive the yet-to-be revealed mystery prize (which will be edited into this post), and have already received the tournament prize-exclusive 18th token, which unlocks the April Fools Day joke song “Vertex Beta vrofl”.

If you’re in the top 3 of your division, PM Synthlight with your paypal address and street address to get your prize. If you’re one of the other high placers, just PM him your street address.

Congratulations to the top placers, and thanks to everyone who participated!
Until next tourney time, happy FFR’ing!

Are you part of the FFR Beta / Subscriber team that contributes to FFR? If not, we have thought of another way to bring even more value to you in return for your support. We have made the leap and decided to give out @flashflashrevolution.com email addresses to all Beta team / subscribers, Admins, Moderators, FFR Stepfile Artists, Musicians. Are we crazy? Yes but for other reasons.

Now for some quick questions about these email addresses.

Q: If I subscribe and then cancel in a few months, can I keep my email address?
A: Yes, as far as we are concerned, you have contributed and deserve the email address

Q: How will I access my email?
A: You can access it through pop3 or special gmail link. We are working with google services to bring this email to you. The email interface will be through a standard looking Gmail type web interface. Which is of course pretty damn sweet.

Q: How large is my inbox?
A: It starts at 2 Gigabytes and grows larger each day

Q: I am already a subscriber or I just subscribed. How do I request my @flashflashrevolution.com email address?
A: Use the contactus link at the very bottom of this page and send us an email with the subject ‘email’. Make sure you include the password that you want to use. Your FFR passwords are encrypted and we cannot see them so make sure that you give us a password.

Q: How long will it take for my email address to be activated?
A: Initially we will be swamped because they are manually entered. Some of you will get them tonight, others will have to wait anywhere from 1 minute to a couple of days depending on where you are in the list. After we get through the first bulk, email requests will go through very quickly.

Q: Will you be giving out email addresses for the mirrors?
A: Yes, when we get that setup. We will let you know.

If have subscribed in the past and cancelled, you will need to subscribe again to get the email address but from that point on it will be yours to keep.

So hit that contact us at the bottom of this page or subscribe so that you can get your @flashflashrevolution.com email address activated. We are sending them out starting now and taking them in the order we receive the requests.

Synthlight, JasonKey & the rest of the dedicated and tireless staff at FFR.

*Edit* Once you have submitted your information. You can check http://partnerpage.google.com/flashflashrevolution.com to see if you have been activated.

Good Morning Rithum.com

Posted in Uncategorized on May 7th, 200731 Comments »

Many of you have asked at what time the new gaming news comes in each day for Rithum.com. I should have mentioned in the last article about Rithum that starting at about 6-7am central time each day, the news starts flowing in and Nestle is right there to pick it up and start writing. If you watch this morning (and every morning) you will definitely see that news flow in.

News will pop into Rithum at other times of the day as well. It’s just that it is usually concentrated into the morning. We don’t believe in holding onto the news and pacing the release through the day. Why hold back? If there is news off the wire in the morning, we are going to report it!

Cheers,

Spontaneous Contest #342.23: Hawaii Five.. OHH! OHH! Here!

Posted in Uncategorized on May 4th, 2007107 Comments »

Many of you freaks are out enjoying your prom night tonight. That is all fine and dandy but will your prom date give you an FFR T-Shirt? NooOOOOo! I don’t think so. :) Will Synthlight give you an FFR T-Shirt? Yes he will.

So what are we doing tonight for the spontaneous contest?

You are going to watch a live feed of my stupid desk for 1 hour. During that 1 hour at random intervals, I will be showing you a sheet of paper. That paper will remind you of “Wheel of Fortune”.. Every once in awhile I will fill in a square with a letter.

The first person to correctly guess the word or phrase on the paper and send me the completed phrase, wins a T-Shirt of their choice from the FFR Store.

They also win: The first public @flashflashrevolution.com email address. :)

The contest starts now! FFR Spontaneous Contest Video Feed <--- Click this and you can watch for clues.

What a nice and relaxing way to earn a shirt tonight.

Cheers,

Synthlight

P.S. Tonight is the last night we are offering a free 3 month subscription if you buy any shirt. Starting tomorrow morning prices and deals go back to normal! Don’t forget!

8:35pm.. We have a winner! Whorlichan was able to guess it nearly 2 minutes before everyone else in the chat! Congratulations to Whorli. It’s good to see you finally win something besides Tass because we know that Tass is no prize!

Thanks to everyone for participating tonight. That was a really quick spontaneous contest. I had fun trying to man the controls, watch for answers and respond to questions like “Synth, are you really there?”.

Don’t forget to check out (yeah, have to plug it) Rithum.com this weekend. We just launched that sucker today.

Cheers,

Synthlight

Rithum.com – Bleeding Edge Gaming News

Posted in Uncategorized on May 4th, 200744 Comments »
Rithum.com Screenshot

You guys like secrets right? Well, we have a little secret to share with all of you. We recently acquired the domain Rithum.com.

FFR will be using this domain as step 1 of our “super secret” expansion plans and have partnered up with Nestlekwik to bring you guys bleeding edge gaming news. Nestlekwik has numerous inside contacts at most of the top game studios. He has the capability to bring you the news faster than the competitors and has been working in this industry for years. Yes, he will be bringing you…. Bleeding edge gaming news. Despite the name of the site, Rithum.com will cater to all gaming news on all platforms but will pay special attention to Rhythm gaming news when it is available. I have found it absolutely amazing when I look at how many news stories he has been breaking each morning before the competitors. Complete with screenshots, videos and more.

Nestlekwik will be heading this effort for the most part by himself and will likely be looking for additional admins / moderators in the near future on the site and Rithum.com forums. So let him know if you have an interest! Rithum.com is considered a separate site but we have imported the FFR user database onto Rithum in order to prevent fraudulent usernames. From this moment on, the registrations will be separate on both sites.

Rithum.com is young but it will no doubt be growing extremely strong over the next 6 months. Digg what you can and spread the word if you will. Drop the link in a respectable way on other forums if you desire but please don’t spam.

Can you guess where any advertising profits on Rithum.com end up? That’s right, FFR development. :) See? Our world domination plans are in order. ;)

Cheers,

Alrighty, tomorrow night you are required by international faux law to check this spot at 8pm Central (6pm Pacific, 9pm Eastern) for yet another interesting and twisted Spontaneous contest. The winner will receive ANY t-shirt design that we have available and another gift to be mentioned tomorrow night. Muahaha!

I can sense your fear.

250th Overall Level… a simple Skill Token.

Posted in Simfiles, Tokens on May 2nd, 200758 Comments »

Our 10th Skill Token is also our 250th level in the game, including Secret, Purchased, Token, Skill, and Subscriber released songs!

(thanks go to iPatch for writing this up about 3 months ago)

Ugress is an electronica project from Bergen, Norway. The man behind this project is Gisle Martens Meyer.

Ugress’s music can be related to other artists as Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers and Propellerheads. Some similarity to Röyksopp have been suggested, but Ugress is described as having a more “dirty” style. Ugress is also known for using lots of sample snippets from various artists and TV shows. Often Ugress is mistaken for being the name and only project of Gisle Martens Meyer but Ugress is actually one of several projects by Uncanny Records. Each project spawns its own music style but nevertheless you can recognize the “vibe” which goes through most of the available music.

The specific song is the same as is in Spin It Up, Manhattan Sapphire. It’s not that difficult of a file, but it is a bit long at 3:39. Only 106 bpm, so I’m rating it a 3/6. The file is by new stepfile author and long time TWGer, Talisman. I’m sure you can find out how to unlock it via the skill token page on the left hand column… but if you want the challenge, i’ll only tell you to play Life Goes On.
