Synth, Jason, and Tass….. LIVE!

Posted in FFR News, FFR Radio on October 11th, 200761 Comments »

There will be a mini-Admincon meeting going on tonight (Thursday). Synth, Jason, and myself will be broadcasting live, complete with video and audio. You’ll have to check back later today for more details, but it should be tons of fun. Who knows…. there may even be a not-so-spontaneous contest (although I promise nothing)!

FFR Meets almost FFR Hair

Posted in Flash Flash Revolution on October 5th, 2007113 Comments »

JasonKey was strolling through the profiles late Friday night (ok, early Saturday morning) and wandered upon this fine example of DJ Swabber’s FFR Hair + FFR Shirt. Ok ok, You can argue that a majority is purple but you must award bonus points for the attempt at FFR blue. That is dedication if I have ever seen it.

It makes me wonder what would happen if we sent her a custom neon green or orange FFR shirt.

Big thanks goes out to DJ_Swabber for posting this image up in her profile.

If you think you have some front page worthy photos, use the contact us link at the bottom of the page to let us know. There is nothing quite as fun as showing off in front of 100,000+ people per day.

AS I LAY DYING…. I want a widget!

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on October 5th, 200720 Comments »

The members of AS I LAY DYING are the kind of musicians that refuse to be measured solely by their most recent accomplishments. The new album, An Ocean Between Us, is evidence of this fact, proving once again that these guys are not afraid to push the limits of their sound and always keep things moving. The music grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go until the album’s finish. Building upon the foundation that AILD has laid over the past several years, growing from a small San Diego outfit slowly and deliberately into a priority national act, the band has become Metal Blade Records’ biggest sellers with an extremely devoted following. AS I LAY DYING has the goods to take it all the way and stake their claim as the metal band “you need to know about” in 2007 and beyond.

Check out AILD’s MySpace for more info on the band! You can also play their widget on FFR! Like AILD’s sound? Check out more artists from Metal Blade Records!

By the time you are done, you’ll be a gizmo maker.

2 Small Named, Big Hearted Hardcore Widgets – The Forgotten Archetype and Low On Air

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on September 28th, 200712 Comments »

The Forgotten Archetype

The Forgotten Archetype is a band from Beaverton, OR. There’s only two members in the band and they just got together in early 2007. All of their tracks are self produced on the computer. Ben and Nik continue to create unique experimental pieces daily. They’re trying to work up the money to afford a live show, so keep checking in on them. They’ve released an 8 track, self titled album available for download on their MySpace, and other than trying to play live, TFA’s only goal right now is to get their music out there as much as possible.

Low On Air

These guys are young but don’t let their age fool you! Ranging from 16 to 18 years old, these guys have been in the game for over 2 years now, playing anything from parties to huge shows with 500+ people in attendance. Formed in July 2005, Low On Air began as a group of kids just looking to have fun in their garage and maybe play in front of some friends from time to time, but their style and aggression toward their music quickly progressed into the fast pace and energetic mix of hardcore, experimental, and death metal you hear today. Just this past July, Low On Air self released their first 5 Track EP recorded at Foundation Studios under the producer Joey Stergis. Their fan base quickly increased with their new and better recordings along with over a 200% increase in profile plays every day on their myspace. They currently have plans to return to the studio in June of 2008 for 8 days to record and release their first full length CD. This 5 member band is looking to do bigger and better thing in their very near future. With the recent purchase of a Tour van and working with a tailor, Low On Air is looking forward to a very busy spring and summer schedule. Keep on the look out for these guys because they are sure to be in a town near you in the up coming months.

4 New Rock Widgets!

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on September 24th, 200718 Comments »

I know you have been hearing alot about widgets, but they are opening so many new doors for FFR. This is just another chapter in FFR’s life that we here get to experience. These widgets are huge. As we continue to release new widgets, you will see the diversity grow. You would not believe the success and growth we are seeing on this end with our contacts at record labels. Sorry, I’ll try to keep this short, seeing as this is the longest news announcement about widgets as of yet.

Over the last week, we have had a tremendous amount of widgets go up. I’m just gonna give you a quick rundown of the widgets we have seen go up.

Time Enough At Last
This is a local Michigan rock band thats been around for about a year now. They are currently recording their debut e.p. right now, hopefully to be out in December. Check out their page to play the game. Currently they have one song on there, but watch for one more in the near future.

Forever In A Day
Another local Michigan band. These boys are good friends of mine. They’re a synthrock band that have played with lots of big name bands and playing Warped Tour. Right now they are on the search for a drummer, but they will still be playing shows. Give their myspace page some love. They currently have three different songs on for FFR on their widget and one Spin It up song as well.

The Dangerous Summer
Fun rock band from Maryland. The Dangerous Summer is signed to Hopeless Records. They just recently had their debut cd, “If Only You Could Keep Me Alive”, released. You should go to borders and buy it. But until you have a chance, head over to their page and play some FFR or just listen to some tunes. Also, they’re going on an east-coast tour starting October 5th. Make sure to check out the tourdates.

Wheatus
You may not remember the band off the top of your head, but they had one hit song called “Teenage Dirtbag” that you all have probably heard in a movie or tv show at some point in your life. This band was originally signed to a large label, but they hated them and decided to buy back their music and start their own label. Right now Wheatus has 3 different songs on available on their myspace page to play on FFR, including a cover of “Hit Me With Your Best Shot”. Also, they have a Spin It Up song available as well. If you’re in the UK, make sure to check out their shows because they are currently there touring!

Thanks to all the steppers and behind the scenes people. Without you guys, we wouldn’t have accomplished this. <3
