Permanent ME

Listen up you bloated turkey eating fools. At some point today there will be a new token released. Clues will follow. Leave no link unturned.

Cheers,

Synthlight

*EDIT* – Haven’t found anything yet? It’s not difficult, just go back like in the old days and visit an admin’s profile.

*EDIT by Tass* – Since most people have said Synth’s clue is too vague, I’ll provide you with my suggested hint: “Visit the ghost of tokens past.”  Hopefully between Synth’s clue and my hint, you’ll be able to piece it together.  :)

Permanent ME

Fresh from the presses another Flash Flash Revolution widget rolls off the line, bringing you, our beloved FFR users the musical stylings of the rock band Permanent ME.

Formed in Bellmore, NY when its members were just in high school, Permanent ME is comprised of singer/guitarist Brian Kapler, guitarist Joseph Guccione and drummer Mike Fleischmann. Formerly known as Yes, Virginia the band is now signed to Stolen Transmission Records and is touring in support of their full-length release, After The Room Clears. This year they toured with Fall Out Boy and BoysLikeGirls, were featured in the EA Games release “Burnout” and shot a video for “Allison” which was featured on Steven’s Untitled Rock Show on Fuse.

Currently, Allison is available for play in both a light and heavy difficulty on the Permanent ME embeddable widget. You can check out Allison’s game play levels straight from the Permanent ME Flash Flash Revolution widget page or by visiting Permanent ME’s official MySpace page.

Be sure to give the new levels a play, leave some comments and look forward to even more band, artist and song additions in the near future.

8 New SIU Songs, December Spin Celebration!

Spin It Up +8 Get!

Oh, noes! A nestlekwik post – it must be about Spin It Up! You’ve never been more correct my good friend. Now that Thanksgiving is over and we’ve snapped out of holiday mode, let’s push ahead to what’s happening now as well as next month. To bring you up to speed, here are the recent additions brought to Spin It Up in recent weeks:

Zephon by DJ Sharpnel – Level 6 spinfile by MixMasterLar
Otaku Speedvibe by Neon Genesis Gabbangelion – Level 8(!) spinfile by jugglinguy
Galaxy by Detatch – Level 2 spinfile by BEN.(SPEIRS) 7.5
Atomic Trigger by Zero_Bass – Level 5 spinfile by SulferDragon
Happy Rainbow by OSTER Project – Level 6 spinfile by SulferDragon
Fight For Your Life!! by Reone662 – Level 3 spinfile by SulferDragon
Fun At Times by Detatch – Level 2 spinfile by BEN.(SPEIRS) 7.5
Speed Limit by /DJS\ – Level 6 spinfile by MixMasterLar

/DJS\ has graciously let us use a number of his tracks in Spin It Up and recently released a brand new album which is available on the /DJS\ official Web page. While we have a number of esteemed popular bands debuting in Flash Flash Revolution, don’t forget about our independent artists, which also have a number of featured widgets you can find, play and receive embed codes for in our vast, ever-expanding Flash Flash Revolution widgets page.

This week there will be no song additions made to Spin It Up, but fret not, as it is giving us time to prepare for a savory month of spinning come December. In an effort to make some holiday noise, Spin It Up will feature hefty song additions throughout the entire month of December, once a week on each Saturday starting on December 8. Because we are cute and clever, each Saturday will have a different theme to it that befits the songs added in that week to bring some holiday flavor to the game. Since you’ll have time away from school for the holiday, what better time to grab a hot cup of cocoa and spin along to some new tunes on your favorite online site? Just, please, please, please be careful with that cocoa and don’t spill it on yourself or the computer while you play, alright?

So far the schedule for the month looks like this:
Saturday, Dec. 8 – ?????
Saturday, Dec. 15 – ?????
Saturday, Dec. 22 – ?????
Saturday, Dec. 29 – ?????

Mysterious, isn’t it? A lot of long-time members should especially enjoy our first week of additions, but that week’s theme is under wraps until December 8th. As always, you can whittle down the anticipation by jumping over to play Spin It Up on this very site and have a spin at the 77 songs we currently have featured in the game. Don’t forget about the Spin It Up forum, where you can discuss Spin It Up, provide feedback on how we can make the game better and even learn how to contribute spinfiles.

That’s all for now. See you on December 8th!

Giving Thanks… To All Time Low and Dashboard Confessional!

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on November 24th, 200725 Comments »

I hope everyone in the states had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn’t eat too much and pass out early. Also, if you were crazy enough to go out early on Black Friday to hit up some of the sales, I hope it proved successful and not a headache. In between all of that, I have finally found the time to give you guys a little update.

All Time Low is a pop-punk band from Maryland on the rise. Taking their name after a line from a New Found Glory song, these boys are well on their way to be the next band to watch for. While only being seniors in high school, they were signed to Hopeless Records. They have since released 4 cds and have toured non-stop, including appearing on the 2006 and 2007 Vans Warped Tour. Recently, ATL has uploaded the All Time Low FFR Widget to their myspace page. Make sure to check it out!

Also, Dashboard Confessional’s FFR Widget has gone live on their myspace page! Make sure you stop by their page and show them some love as well!

Songs, Songs, Songs… A Subscribers Paradise

Posted in Game Announcements on November 19th, 200759 Comments »

Added 6 subscriber only songs to the game over the past 45 minutes or so to make up for the lack of SotW files recently. They’ll go public sporadically over the next 3 weeks. Check out Funk, bottom of page 1 and top of page 2 for them. Lot of arcade remixes, like from Final Fantasy, Sonic, and even TMNT.

Enjoy

Dashboard Confessional is Onboard

As the realm of FFR artists expands, we are continually amazed by the bands that are stepping in and giving us permission for both the widgets and the game. To say the least, I was nearly knocked out of my chair when Dashboard Confessional was confirmed by their label Vagrant Records. Definitely a fantastic addition here. I will keep this short because I know you all know who Dashboard Confessional is. Enjoy the easy levels and fear not, difficult levels are right around the corner. I will post an update link when the widget goes live on the Dashboard myspace page.

Pickup the FFR Dashboard Confessional widget if you would enjoy showing off to your friends.

Cheers,

3rd Official Tournament OVER – Congrats to winners!

Posted in Tournament on November 16th, 200738 Comments »

A lot of you may have been keeping track, but for those of you who haven’t been, the final round of the 3rd Official FFR Tournament ended tonight. I would like to congratulate the top 3 places of each division:

Expert: 1st place – darkshark, 2nd place – ElectricWerewolf, and 3rd place – bmah (EW will be getting the 1st place prize, bmah 2nd, and smartdude1212 3rd because DS is not eligible for prizes as a staff member… just bragging rights and vROFL)
Advanced: 1st place – dag12, 2nd place – stlunatic0124, and 3rd place – talisman.
Intermediate: 1st place – bomberboi200, 2nd place – Nightfirecat, and 3rd place – MoonLightTiger.
Beginner: 1st place – zoogarama, 2nd place – MrMatt106, and 3rd place – gtrick69.
All of these people will receive monetary prizes along with subscriptions and vRofl.

Great job to everyone who participated. We hope to see everyone who joined this year, and more, signing up for the 4th Official FFR Tournament!

-Sprite

To add to what Sprite said, I decided that vROFL will work as only the top8 will get it, and if someone already has it, then only 7 new people will get it. Under no circumstances will 9th place get vROFL. This will encourage people to defend their vROFL token and attempt to prevent others from acquiring it. As we have more tournaments, it’ll become harder and harder to get the token.

Finally, if you noticed, each of the four divisions had a special new song to play for their finals round. Those songs will be made public very shortly. Beginner’s Final song is Dimensions by Freedom Cell, stepped by SulferDragon and can be found in Rock. Intermediate’s Final song is Final Step by OSTER Project, stepped by behanjc and can be found in Misc. Advanced’s Final song is Final Fantasy Last Battle Festival by S.S.H., stepped by jimerax and can be found in Arcade (and at 6:36 is the longest song in FFR, with over 3600 arrows and 170+ 4-framers). Expert’s Final song is Frictional Nevada by Venetian Snares, stepped by jimerax and can be found in Misc (and is just shy of 12 taps/second, with over 260 4-framers in only 1325 notes).

Yours Truly, Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution! Plus Blinded Black on Tour.

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on November 14th, 200723 Comments »

Yours Truly:
Yours Truly is a southern rock sounding hardcore band that comes straight to you from New Jersey. The band’s drummer, known as Danny “Dboy” Lavarco, keeps pretty busy with music. Besides bringing the drums and vocals from Yours Truly, he also drums for his other band, Royden. Royden has a completely different sound, but still the same drumsexy.

Yours Truly has December 1, 2007 marked for the date of their debut cd release. Everyone should totally check out Yours Truly (and Royden), and let them know what you think. Play the Yours Truly widget!

Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution
Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution is an acoustic ska band started by Tomas Kalnoky. Often viewed as a precursor to Streetlight Manifesto, BOTAR is recognized as something of a side-project. 2001 marked the release of their only recording to date, “A Call To Arms”. With 5 songs, including an updated version of Catch 22′s “Dear Sergio”, and the future Streetlight Manifesto song “Here’s To Life”, this collection marked something of a transition for Kalnoky.

Since Streetlight Manifesto came around, BOTAR has been on hiatus. Straight from the BOTAR website, BOTAR is about to start recording its first full length. It is expected to be released around the same time as Streetlight’s record. Play the BOTAR widget!
