Nestle Claus Christmas Credit Giveaway

Posted in Spontaneous Contests on December 25th, 200763 Comments »

Credit Giveaway

Here are the winners (of course chosen via random.org)!!! But, first, a word from our sponsors:

While the giveaway originally stemmed from 50,000 credits from Nestle Claus, the following members have selflessly donated to the contest – .dot, Clipso, Sullyman2007, Roy Campbell and CornontheCod. While I originally said there were 250,000 credits total in the pot, I guess I lied. Since the original promise was five winners at 10,000 credits, I’d hate to give away prizes of 5,000. Thus, I have added 5,000 credits to each prize, meaning the five grand prize winners will net 35,000 credits each, second-tier winners will take 20,000 each and the third-tier winners will earn the promised 10,000 credits each. Without further ado:

Grand prize winners (35,000 credits each):
Speedking7, fullmetal_alchemist027, RB_Mapleleaf2102, coolade123 and Xandertrax

Second-tier winners (20,000 credits each):
SuperSonicX, EvilNerd07, mellonxcollie, phe0nixblade and musicluver1991

Third-tier winners (10,000 credits each):
arrekusuof93, thechild, Syhto, EnR and atalkingcow

*I have transferred all credits to the announced winners and have verified they were delivered in the credit log.  Enjoy your credits/secret songs/running tournaments/whatever!*

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who entered – I honestly didn’t expect so many entries. If you didn’t win this time, sorry, but keep checking back for more possible contests and events as 2007 comes to a close right here on FFR.

Christmas is Upon Us! Come Unwrap Your Songs!

You’ve been patient up until today, but the final day of FFRMas is now upon us and two brand new Christmas songs are available for play in the Misc. genre:

The Mannheim Steamroller rendition of Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow is no longer widget-exclusive, making a difficulty level 3 debut to the public with a [Heavy] stepfile created by ElectricWerewolf. Fresh off the Flash presses is the humorous song A Christmas Carol by Tom Lehrer, which features a vocal-timed difficulty level 5 stepfile by Talisman.

While everyone is in the holiday spirit, don’t forget about last year’s addition of Carol Megamix by Hiro (9 by Rebirth0), which you can also find located in the Misc. genre.

To conclude the 12 Days of FFRMas, an additional three non-holiday oriented songs, located at the bottom of the Hip-Hop genre, round out the event:

First, Sabrepulse’s Horizon Remix features three minutes of tricky patterns including trills, yellow note streams and air step alternations in a level 8 stepfile by rshadow8888. Shind Bad hangs another DJ Sharpnel song onto the FFR tree with a difficulty 9 stepfile by Rebirth0 that throws out plenty of high speed yellow note streams and quickfire air steps. Another artist making a return in FFR with a difficulty 9 rating is Smiley feat. KaW in Euphoria where eastsideman09′s stepfile flows with the busy, yet cheerful, melody.

So there you have it, another five songs to add even more cheer to your holidays. We hope you have enjoyed the second-annual 12 Days of FFRMas and we look forward to seeing our users as we now look ahead to the year 2008.

FFRMas Eve Yields Early Presents

On the 11th day of FFRMas, Flash Flash Revolution gave to you:

The easiest of tonight’s files introduces Cid’s Theme Piano Concerto by XBrav, bringing in a short difficulty 2 stepfile by vemuck that is stocking-stuffed full of air steps. Difficulty level 7 does double-duty tonight, first with The Final Fantasy by B0UNC3, a constant file by Kalazor that presents tricky patterns of yellow note streams accented by air steps. Tonight’s second level 7 is Black Noise –_– by Zenon, which thanks to stepfile artist Scytlock, should serve as any yellow-note stream fanatic’s dream. Finally, tonight’s hardest stepfile comes in the form of cornandbean’s {I Don’t Need You Anymore}, a level 10, 5:05 long marathon featuring tricky streams courtesy of dore. You should know the drill by now, but all four songs are located at the bottom pages of the hip-hop genre.

On the eve of Christmas, only one more day is left in the 12 Days of FFRMas. What awaits you on the final day? Come back tomorrow and see what lies underneath the FFRMas tree.

FFRMas Day 10: Four More Songs

Sorry for delay, but I have just received word that the files for Day 10 of the 12 Days of FFRMas are now live, making four more Flash Flash Revolution songs available in the hip-hop genre – scroll down three pages and you’ll see them listed as the last songs:

First up, providing a mellow 2 difficulty, Nina Goddess of Dance brings more Euro house to FFR with the addition of Don’t You Want Me, a stepfile by MixMasterLar that flows with the airy vocals and bassline. Bumping up the difficulty, Progression by Draigun enters in with a difficulty level 9 stepfile by Silvuh that continually flows with triplets and is accented with tricky parts all through the song. The next two additions turn the difficulty dial up to 10 – Neonatrias provides a quickfire stepfile with the intense Ascii Art Core by Yamajet that will have you seeing plenty of yellow. Shanghai Girl of Meiji 17 by dBu is a little more laid back with a file by behanjc, which follows the song’s orchestral feel, but unlike the fast-paced 1:24 runtime of Ascii Art Core, this level 10 file runs just short of four minutes.

Of course, being that it is now day 11 in the event, you should expect to see another update later today with even more FFR song additions.

Day 8 + 9 = Day 17? More FFR Songs!

While most of us are currently enjoying the laurels of the holiday, I’m stepping in real quick for the mighty Tasselfoot to fill you in on the details of the 12 Days of FFRMas additions for days 8 and 9. Honestly, it’s been a good spell since I’ve tackled the beast that is Flash Flash Revolution, so without further ado, enough of my blabber and on with the tunes, which are all located at the bottom pages of the hip-hop genre:

Day 8 (Friday, Dec. 21)
First up is Shin Trigger by ZeRo_BaSs, a fast-paced song with a difficulty 7 stepfile by SulferDragon, featuring a number of yellow note patterns that follow the melodies. Same Dream by DJ Sharpnel is a melodic song full of 1/8th streams, resulting in a fitting difficulty 4 stepfile by ElectricWerewolf. Next, in a level featuring a good amount of streaming arrows, Hadazumi Rittou by Schizophrenic Raccoon might appear easier than labeled until you hit the burst toward the end in this difficulty 7 stepfile by Silvuh. To finish out yesterday’s additions, the Kyle Ward-produced tune Clockwork Genesis by Inspector K uses a good amount of air steps and yellow notes to serve up a difficulty 8 stepfile by eastsideman09.

Day 9 (Saturday, Dec. 22)
In today’s first addition, Midnight of the North comes at you courtesy of Sanxion7 with a difficulty 7 stepfile by blahblahblahblahblahblah that features a good amount of yellow note triplets and strings. In today’s first difficulty 9 stepfile, Megane De Ne! by MOSAIC.WAV features peppy vocals and melodies along with a challenging guitar solo in this file by jimerax. Finally, players will get to taste the rainbow of different note colors in Sunny Side Up by Stargroup100 with a suitable difficulty 9 stepfile produced by the song’s own author, Stargroup100.

As you might expect, day 10 will be coming at you very soon as we count down the final days of this now annual event. We hope you are enjoying the additions as we wrap up yet another great year here at Flash Flash Revolution.

December Spin Celebration – Holidays Approaching!

Posted in SpinItUp on December 22nd, 200716 Comments »

DJ Scratchin'

Saturday is upon us once again, but fret not, you won’t be bombarded by another marathon post, but there is still a good amount of new material to be found in Spin It Up. It’s week three in the December Spin Celebration and if you can’t guess what today’s theme is, perhaps you should take a good look at a calendar.

In recognition of the holidays, you can now find three new songs in Spin It Up, modeled after the merry holiday of Christmas, all produced by on-site regulars:

{Christmas Grooves} by cornandbeans – difficulty level 1 by nestlekwik
A Christmas Nightmare (Vocal Mix) by /DJS\ – difficulty level 5 by SulferDragon
Jingle Bells by DJ Scratchin’ – difficulty level 1 by MixMasterLar

And, of course, I realize not everyone celebrates Christmas, but, unfortunately, I couldn’t find any other traditional holiday songs, so in the spirit of Dec. 22, the first official day of winter, here are three winter-themed songs that join the game along with the SiU staples Snowfall [Final Mix] (difficulty 3) by ArcSynth and Field of Snow (difficulty 6) by KgZ:

Snow by Cranky – difficulty level 5 by nestlekwik
Snowstorm by -API- – difficulty level 1 by -Kitsune-
Cold Breath by Shiki – difficulty level 5 by jugglinguy

On two other notes, at this time, we realize the Spin It Up multiplayer is currently not working. We will have the matter fixed as soon as possible. On a better note, MixMasterLar and I have recorded all of the top 10 scores of difficulties 1-4 as of Friday, Dec. 21. You can view the updated top 10s in the Spin It Up forum’s dedicated thread. Tomorrow, we also anticipate updating the personal player rankings thread to reflect the updated top 10s.

Thank you for everyone’s support of Spin It Up through the year as we near the final update of 2007 for the game. I’ve seen many of our Spin It Up players are not visiting the forum, where you can receive a boatload of information, learn how to contribute to the game and register for temporary top 10 rankings, so don’t delay any further – get over to the Spin It Up forum now!

Day 8 – No Time For News!

I have to run off to the airport in an hour, and have to pack and stuff still… so, no time to write up a full news story on today’s songs. But, there are 4 of them. They are really fun. And they are in Hip-Hop. That is really all you need to know. I’ll give a full write up on them + tomorrow’s songs tomorrow.

Nestle’s quick reference of added song titles until Tass updates:
Shin Trigger, Same Dream, Hadazumi Rittou, Clockwork Genesis

And in case you missed the skill token announcement among the T-Shirt design entry: FC RainDrops with 463+ Perfects to unlock RainDrops v2.

Peace Out Homies
