Songs of the Week and Weekly Update 9/3/2022

Welcome to the first Songs of the Week Release in September, after the end of the 15th Official Tournament! Songs of the Week will resume with three songs a week, with releases on Saturdays at 12 AM Server Time as of now.

Before getting to our song releases, there are a couple long term-events to talk about:
First, we have the FFR Pattern Labeling Project. This event was put in place to better define FFR files by the hardest patterns within them. You can earn 100 credits per song you help with, and there’s still plenty of songs to add pattern labels for. Check out the thread for details and consider helping out if you have the time!

The second ongoing event is The Official New Musician Reward System. This event awards our stepartists that step a song for FFR with a new musician. You can earn 10,000 credits per accepted file, and up to three event tokens a year depending on how many files you get accepted. If you’ve ever considered stepping songs from some unused permissions for FFR before, now is a great chance to do so!

As always with any event we host, please carefully read the rules within the event’s respective thread before participating.

Oh, and a quick reminder that there’s roughly a month left before the Aug/Sept 2022 batch closes.

You’ve all been playing difficult files during the tournament, so let’s have a calmer release this time around. For those that live in the U.S., this is also Labor Day Weekend!

It should also be noted that this release marks 3000 files in public levelranks. Before today’s release, we were at exactly 2999 files in public levelranks. As part of this milestone, all three files this release will be made available immediately to all players. Additionally with this week’s releases we have three new musicians to talk about!

Post-FFR 15th Official Tournament

We have finally come to the end of FFR’s 15th Official Tournament! 81 songs released involving 28 new Musicians, contested between 265 players for the best score, over 2 months of tournament-filled, edge-of-the-seat competition.

We’ll be working around the clock to get the prizes and awards out for everyone that participated in the 15th Official Tournament, but we wanted to give a huge shout-out again to all the Stepauthors, Judges involved in QA and Difficulty Consultants finalizing the difficulty of songs for this tournament. It literally would not, and could not happen at the scale or quality that this operates at!~ Also, a big massive thanks to Mr. Birdman for a lot of the ‘under the hood’ work on the OT, from automation of rewards to UI / Graphic layout of the preview streams, making them as big as they can be! And to top it off, thank you to everyone whom participated in the tournament, conversed and watched the previews! I couldn’t have asked for a more friendly and loving community <3

Welcome to the last Song of The Week Release for June! This will also be the last song release before the 15th Official Tournament starts next week.

Before anything else, we want to thank everybody for their patience while the website was offline over the past few days. We experienced server hardware issues that have been resolved now. As you’ll notice below, we’ve added a third song release to this week to show our appreciation for this community!

As for other news, a new version of R^3 (1.4.4) has been released! You can find the download and the patch notes by clicking on the blue Download FFR button towards the top left of the website. (Here’s a direct link to that page as well.) Also, a final reminder that Season 3 ends and Season 4 begins next Friday on July 1st! The 15th Official tournament will be kicking off on July 1st as well! If you somehow haven’t signed up by now, you have one week left to do so.
