WE FIXED THE PURCHASED GENRE!

Posted in FFR News, Game Announcements, Simfiles on July 13th, 200891 Comments »
Time to Make the Credits

OMFG… it actually happened. We fixed Purchased. If you go into the FFR Shop, you’ll notice a nice, new song in there, ripe for buying. R8U (Another) by Shiki is a mix off of Kyle Ward‘s R8U which is a mix off of B4U by Naoki that is well known in DDR. I’m sure you’re aware that 4FT3R M3 is a remix of this also. Stepfile is by Behanjc and can be yours forever for the small sum of 5000 credits.

Keep checking Purchased every few days, as we’ll continue to make use of the genre again now that we can. Give you guys something new to use your credits on besides gambling (if you have any left!). Expect songs to range from 1000 to 10000 in price, based on my own arbitrary feelings at the time of adding.

July 4th! New Token!

Posted in Game Announcements, Tokens on July 4th, 200862 Comments »

Well, we were going to do a new token anyway… but, might as well theme it around July 4th. It is, I believe, the easiest of the 4 Achievement Tokens released to date. All you have to do is load up MP and get 2501 exp.

Wait. What? You don’t know what exp in MP is? Well, then clearly you’ve never read Shashakiro’s Complete Multiplayer Rules sticky, which clearly explains that you win/lose exp in MP, which is displayed as a colored bar and level to the users. In case you are lazy, 2501 exp is the minimum amount to be level 10. So, get to MP level 10 (or higher) and check your levelrank.php and you’ll be rewarded with Paradise Decay’s Slow Motion (Wipeout Pure Xtra), stepped by SulferDragon.

Achievement Token #3 & New Levelrank Feature!

Posted in Game Announcements, Tokens on July 3rd, 200877 Comments »

Achievement Token #3 has been gotten by 645 users at the time of the release. The requirement? Full Combo 50% of all public songs in the game. We feel that percentages work better compared to a static number. This way, 500 more public songs from now, the req is still 50% and not 274. Note: On this and all future percentage based tokens, all percentages will be rounded down. FCing 49.996% of the songs in game will NOT get you the token. Once, again, just check your levelrank.php page to get the token.

Quickdraw is a not-so-flaccid song by one of our very own, KgZ. Stepfile is by Vote4Nixon. I listed it as a 9, but I have a feeling you guys are going to yell at me that it is only an 8. If so, I will not be opposed to changing it.

Also, we’ve added a new feature to your levelrank page. At the very bottom, below your Average Rank, it now displays your % of songs FCed and % of songs AAAd. This should make it easier for you guys to know how close you are to the token. Also, again, if you get the token and then slip under 50% of songs FCed, you will NOT lose the token.

Achievement Token #2 – Under 1000 Ave Rank

Posted in Game Announcements, Tokens on July 2nd, 200877 Comments »

Apparently some haters in the new Achievement Token thread didn’t think we’d do one of these based on average rank. I’m not really sure why… but that’s why they’re haters, I guess.

Anyway, this has been in store since we came up with all of these initial reqs for achievement tokens. Just like with yesterday’s, if you meet the req (either now or in the future)… just go to your levelrank page to gain access to the song. You’ll find it on Page 3 of Token.

Happy Rainbow is an uptempo and happy (duh) song by OSTER Project and is stepped by bmah. To meet the req, get an average rank under 1000 and then check your levelrank.

For those wondering, there are 4177 users with 1 billion or more GTS. There are currently 343 users with an average rank under 1000. So this is a decent bit harder to get!

PS – LD wants me to mention something dealing with the Level Stats page… something about it now showing perf/good/av/miss, etc.

LD Thinks He Is Awesome… Is He?

So, I posted a subscriber news story last night (also found in my profile’s random thoughts) about how we are going to fix the challenge system so that you can no longer play files you don’t have access to by getting a challenge on them. Well, that has happened. So, now you won’t be able to play Vertex BETA vROFL unless you earn it. Or Otaku [Oni]. Or the big boy secret levels. Or any upcoming levels we have in store. These levels are meant to be rewards for an accomplishment, and they haven’t been to this point. Now they are again. If you want to play them, you’ll have to earn it.

You guys can thank (or curse) Lightdarkness for implementing this system. It is the reason he thinks he is awesome. I think he’s a pretty cool kid myself.

Finally… we have some new token ideas that we’ll be putting into place later this week, completely different than anything you’ve seen before. *insert gasps and looks of awe*.

Cheers,

-Tass & his slave coder, LD

Dropdown As You Dance2!

Posted in Game Announcements on June 4th, 200844 Comments »

Many of you have likely taken advantage of the recently added dropdown song selection icon found within the game. If you don’t know about it, it is the little S found in the upper left hand corner of the main FFR game screen… right next to the Q. If you click on it, it will bring down a giant list of every song in FFR that you have access to play. Click on what you want to play and it will load it. You can also sort to only show certain difficulties or ranges of difficulties. AND… you can randomly select a level to play from within those difficulty ranges.

Unfortunately, the entire Dance2 genre had been missing from this list. But, with mad props to our insane leader, Synthlight, this situation has been rectified. You can now find Dance2 songs in the dropdown list. If you find any bugs that have sprung out of this small fix, please post them in the comments.

Also, you’ll notice the version is up to .785…. that’s just because we haven’t updated it in a long time. It’s been .71x for WAY too long.

And… don’t forget to sign up for the tournament, if you haven’t already!

4th Official FFR Tournament – SIGN UP NOW!!!

So, it’s that time again…  time again for another official tournament.  If you want to sign up, go here and click the sign up button. It’s that simple (note: you must have at least 100 games played to participate).  If you have any questions or you want to start the smack talk…  do it in the official thread! Now, to tell you a bit about this tournament:

There will be FIVE divisions, instead of 4.  We hope this will help to thin the divisions out a bit, allow more users to have a chance to place and be competitive, and most importantly…  cut down on the complaining!  Just like the previous ones, you do not get to pick which division you will be competing in.  Our Official FFR Tournament Co-Ordinator, Sprite, will have first and final say.

Click the MORE tag to read all the rest of the tournament information!

Gameplay Competition – Story #2

EDIT: As per a request that I like…  IF someone gets 1 billion during the competition, I’ll reward that user with vROFL.  -Tass

Just another reminder that the gameplay competition will begin in roughly 11 hours from the posting of this story.  If you want to discuss the goings on of this competition, do so in this thread.

It seems many users are confused by varying time zones, so let me give a few different ones for the starting time:

Time Zone:
