Page 2 BST Chapter 3Posted on: September 18, 2009, at 05:02:08pm [ 0 comments] Spain looked around as he entered the home of the younger two. It was a two-story house made of white brick. Everything indoors was handmade, either craved by the skilled hands of Mexico or crafted by the graceful hands of Texas. When Texas left the room to start dinner Mexico told Spain that Texas would never admit but she was quite a homemaker despite her appearance. This surprised Spain. “Why does she act like that anyway?” Mexico shot him a questioning glance “No ones ever asked that, most just assume she’s a brat and then ignore her. She acts that way because she’s not used to people, especially guys though she puts up with me she hits me when I tease her.” “So, is she going to punch me into a tree too?” Mexico chuckled
“As long as you don’t make smart comments I think you wont get a beating, for now.” As soon as the words had left his lips Texas walked in with platters of food. “Hey, what’s with the idiotic grins on your faces.” She said trying to look grumpy, though she was silently glad that she didn’t come back to find them drunk and singing mariachi band tunes. Texas had definitely hid the Tequila well this time. They looked at each other as if silently having a conversation they turned to her “Nothing!” they shouted in unison. Texas had to stifle a chuckle. Mexico definitely liked Antonio; he always acted like a little kid around people he liked. She had been so lost in her thoughts she hadn’t noticed that they were both digging into the food she had set in front of them. Antonio stopped while eating his fajita to give it a questioning look. “What’s wrong Antonio, not to your liking?” He looked up at her eyes full of curiosity “What are these tasty red things?” “Huh, oh those are chopped tomatoes.” He stared at her with a blank stare not comprehending what she was talking about. With a sigh she stood walking back into the kitchen. She came back with a bright red fruit in her hand “This-“ she stated as if talking to a child “is a tomato, they grow around here.” Spain examined the fruit in her hand before leaning back in his chair with a huge grin on his face. “What now Antonio” she huffed trying to hide her growing irritation. “Oh, it’s nothing, I was just thinking how you look cute when you're angry.” Texas’s eyes widened a little and her cheeks were dusted a light pink tinge. “S-shut up, idiot!” Texas shouted trying to hide her growing embarrassment, no one had ever called her cute. Just then Mexico joined the conversation “Ah Stella, you’re acting like a girl for once.” He had just signed his death wish. “Aw! Your name is Stella! That’s so much cuter than Texas!” Texas turned to Spain; if looks could kill he would be six feet under. She then stomped out of the room. “Um, Mexico should we be worried.” Mexico turned to Spain with a chuckle. “Probably!” he shouted flashing him a grin. That didn’t calm him down at all. “It’s kinda ironic, really.” Antonio looked up as Mexico spoke again. “Texas means friend in Indian.” Texas walked into the room with two large green bottles. Mexico’s eyes sparkled when he noticed the bottle. “Your gonna let me have some Tequila!” “No. As your punishment for telling him my real name me and Antonio are gonna drink it and your going to watch!” With that she sat back down beside Antonio handing him a bottle and started chugging the one still in her hand. “So not cute.” “Use that word again and Ill cut off the appendage your thinking with.” Spain shuddered and started chugging down the liquid as well, hopefully the liquid wasn’t strong enough to make him do something that would make her follow through with her plan. BST Chapter 2Posted on: September 15, 2009, at 09:07:43pm [ 0 comments] Antonio was still staring at me, while I stood on his front porch, looking up at him like a lost puppy. Finally I broke the silence “Um, c’n I come ‘n?” He keeps his eyes locked onto mine like if stops I’ll disappear. A few moments later he replies, “Where have you been Poco Stella! *” He shouts picking me up and spinning me around like a little kid. “I told you don’ call me dat!” I shout back punching him in the arm. He drops me and then starts to whine “Stella! That hurt.” “’erves you right fer calling me dat,” I huff. Suddenly I hear footsteps and see someone coming into view. “Oi, Spain do you know this girl?” He turns to speak with him. “Oh, Romano this is Stella!” he says looking at me like I’m a stray puppy he brought home and is about to be scolded for. “Idiot! I could hear you shouting her name! He yelled, clearly irritated with Antonio. “Who is she?” he demanded. “Oh, well she is-“ “ I’d rather not tell’m ‘til dinner, if it’s fine wid Chu.” I say, hoping he’ll drop it. “I’ll even make ya dinner, your fav’rite.” After I said that Spain’s eyes started to glitter as if he were a little kid in a candy store. “I’ll take that as a yes.” I smirk as I turn towards the kitchen. I can feel the energy coming from his smile. 2 hours later I walk into the dining room, arms piled high with food. I hear a loud crash and look over the food plates to see that Romano and Antonio had fallen out their chairs and landed on top of each other, they lay like that for a second, Antonio chuckling as Romano continues to cuss him out. When they see me they fly back into their chairs, acting as if nothing happened. I walked over to the table and set down their plates, sitting to the left of Antonio. Antonio grabbed one of the chicken fajitas the second the plate hit the table. He then took a big spoonful of Spanish rice and then grabbed the homemade torrtias and salsa. Romano eyed the food before getting himself a small amount. “So, Stella why did you show up all of a sudden. I haven’t seen you since the revolution. Did you have a lovers quarrel?” I punched him in the arm to shut him up, honestly it’s like he WANTS me to be pissed off at him 24/7. “First off, I’m not attracted to America but, yes we did have a fight, and second off do not call me my real name, call me Texas.” “Wait isn’t Texas part of America?” Romano asks. I shoot a look across the table surprised at his outburst. “Yes, yes it is Rom’no. Thank ya fer pointin’ that out.” He shot me a glare and I smirked back. He looked over to Spain “So, how do you two know each other than?’ I straightened up in my seat “Yes well-“
FLASHBACK
Spain looked around the area in awe “Wow, looks like it was a good idea to send Columbus*.” He turned towards his men, giving them their orders and dispatching them to different areas. Spain turned away, walking through the forest and towards a berry bush he spotted. Suddenly a girl ran from the bush, head butting him in the legs, which made him, fall down. He looked up to see the girl sitting on his stomach staring down at him with an intense glare on her face. “What are you doing here bad man, leave me and brother alone!” she said with a snarl. Spain studied her features for a second. She had long black wavy hair, black eyes, and tan skin. Spain was so surprised by her features he didn’t notice her growing agitation. “Hey! I said leave! Stop staring at me!” she shouted jumping on his stomach. “Ow! That hurt little girl” he chuckled before sitting up and placing the girl on his lap. “Besides I haven’t hurt you or your brother.” He stated matter of factly. “Yes you are! Your invading our vital regions*!” It finally clicked to the Spaniard, that this girl and her brother were countries too. “Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t know you and your brother were countries.” She pouted, “Brother and me are one country and you better be careful! Brother is huge! And I’m stronger than I look!” He chuckled once again, this girl definitely reminded him of a certain Italian that he had left at his house. As he opened his mouth to reply to the girl he heard another voice coming from the bush. “That’s enough sister.” The male voice commanded stepping out of the bush to reveal himself. Spain examined the boy for a second; he had dark brown hair that touched the collar of his shirt. He had golden eyes that glimmered with a boyish glint. He was about an inch taller than his sister and unlike her he seemed to be quite friendly. “Ai! Your bothering the only visitors we get sister, your not that friendly are you.” He playfully grinned at Spain, as if telling him he was fine. The girl pouted at him, clearly annoyed “But brother, he’s bad! His people are claiming land on our country!” He glanced over to look at Spain who was trying not to look guilty. After all that was what he had been doing. But after a moment his grin only widened “We’ll talk about it later but for now would you like to come to our house, Mr.…?” “Antonio, call me Antonio.” His eyes gleamed as he turned towards his sister. “Well why don’t you and your boyfriend come back to the house, Mrs. Antonio.” Spain would have found this amusing but as soon as he had finished his sentence his sister punched him sending him flying into a tree. “Come on, Antonio.” She spat. “Oh and by the way, that’s Mexico and I’m Texas. Now come on before I lose my patience.”
BST Chapter 1Posted on: September 15, 2009, at 08:07:27pm [ 0 comments] Chapter 1
“ OH, YAH WELL F**K OFF.” Texas shouted, fleeting out of Americas home and into the raining streets of Boston. Great she sighed to herself, hailing a Taxi and telling him to go to the airport, another fight with America. Why did he HAVE to mention it, and especially in front of England? She had just met him and here America was spouting off about the war and how Texas kicked Mexico’s ass* saying, “the hero saved the day” with that idiotic grin on his face. It had annoyed her for one because she didn’t like to think of it. And two because even though her and Carlos* were on friendlier terms than during the war he still hated the fact that she had rebelled and won the revolution had severally hurt his pride. America then went on to mention the Civil War, even going as far as teasing her by calling her “Dixie”*. That had defiantly hit a nerve; Alfred knew the subject was taboo around her. Then when she made a comment she accidentally said it in a sarcastic tone, which pissed off Alfred; Texas sighed to herself once again, Spain used to say that if her tongue was any sharper she’d cut herself and unfortunately it often did. America had of course, started an argument and it escalated, resulting in her telling him off. She laid her head back rubbing her temples, and on top of it this was supposed to be her first meeting with England. He probably thought she was just a foul-mouthed, short-tempered hick now, despite her efforts to prove otherwise. The taxicab driver looked over his shoulder at her “So, you coming from home or to it?” he said in a Boston accent. She looked up at the sudden interaction “uh, goin’ back, t’ Texas. *” “Oh, a southerner don’t see someone like you around here to often. Did you like Boston?” She looked out her window gazing at the rain that was painting the city gray. “I’ was m’kay, not my first time here but it’s a change. *” “Well, I guess Boston would be different from the desert, your lucky you haven’t sat on a cactus*” She tried desperately not to punch him; it wasn’t fully his part, all Northerners thought like that but still. The Taxi stopped after reaching its destination and she handed the man the money, thanking him. She got out of the car and grabbed her suitcase full of clothes from the trunk. She WAS going to spend 2 weeks at Alfred’s but their fight the first day had put an end to that. She purchased her plane ticket and sat to wait for her plane. A couple hours later she was walking towards a Spanish villa that sat on top of a hill, she came to the front door turning the knob only to realize the door was locked. That was strange; he used to never lock it. She knocked on the door hoping she hadn’t come during Siesta*. Sure enough 5 minutes later the door opened revealing Spain’s cheery face. “Hola, Amig-“ Spain looked down at an agitated Texas with a suitcase parked behind her. “S-Stella!?!”
* America is talking about the Texas Revolution, in which Texas defeated Mexico to declare her independence
* Mexico’s human name
* A Dixie is what people in the Northern states called people in the Southern States; it’s kind of like another way to say hick
* “Uh, going back to Texas” if you cant understand
* “It was okay, not my first time here but it’s a change.”
* Excuse my mini-history lesson: Okay, in the 1800’s the Plains part of Texas was open range with no fences and Ranches were several miles apart. Everyone raised cattle because it was cheap and you could make good money. However, the train stations were usually a couple hundred miles away so the cattle would have to be drove there by cowboys. Because of this Northern states still think that Texas is like that to this day, thinking everyone wears cowboy hats and boots and that the whole state is a giant desert. Which is really annoying.
* A time in the middle of the day in Spain (and I think Mexico and Italy too, but I’m not sure) when everyone relaxes, usually used as a naptime
· Texas’s Human name
