Blinded Black Joins FFR’s Growing Widget List!

Posted in Embeddable Widgets on September 13th, 2007

Hard work, determination, persistency and a little love from the media are some of the key ingredients that comprise the success of St. Louis-based Blinded Black. And with its SideCho Records debut, Under The Sunrise, the empty fuel tanks, days spent on guitar overdubs and hours spent maintaining a vital online presence have all come to fruition in a succinct recorded package.

With the release of Under The Sunrise, the members of Blinded Black are looking forward to taking their show on the road throughout the nation (though the support from its St. Louis homebase could fuel the act on its own). In addition to the heavy amounts of local press coverage, Blinded Black has been interviewed and played on major alternative rock station KPNT “The Point” 105.7 FM and the band also played the Vans Warped Tour 2006 in St. Louis.

  12. ENOUGH WIDGETS!

  13. Widgets are made of awesome stuff

  14. There are enough of them! There is never any new token song or skill token song. Instead of that, I get a dumb widget.

  15. 15th ya ya

  16. Remember back when the news posts had to do with the actual game? Now it’s just all disappointment…

Having to ignore these miscellaneous news posts is gonna make me start missing the important posts. And before I know it i’ll start missing out on tokens and contests and such.

They’re definately contributing to my loss of interest.

  17. I second that, Hijinks….it is making the game less enjoyable.

  18. I live in St. Louis, but have never heard of them.

I second some of Hijinks’ sentiment, though I definitely see the extreme inherent value in this sort of promotion. The MySpace widgets -are- the big thing that’s going on in FFR, and it has great potential if the leaders of FFR focus enough time and energy on it.

As a community though, I hate to say the news posts are seeming a little excessive. I definitely applaud all the promotional efforts going on behind the scenes, but it seems like I’m not the only one who’s not all that interested in specific MySpace conquests. The admins deserve a huge pat on the back for their work, but it might not be coming from long-time users… maybe it’ll come from the huge wave of new users destined to take notice?

  19. I really dont care about all these rock bands. Thats what Myspace is for. Start working on third style more instead of wasting time with these widgets. >_>

  20. I can’t play the widgets or use the profile chat. During the Q and A the other day I asked about quicktime and how it “ran profile chat” but I was told it didn’t. However, everytime I go to use profile chat or play a widget (( I haven’t gotten to play one yet, by the way)) where the screen should be there is a question mark over the quicktime symbol. This implies that it’s run by Quicktime and you need the most updated version of Quicktime to access the feature. Am I correct and I just need to update Quicktime or is there another reason behind this?
